This War of Mine ‘Forget Celebrations’ DLC Coming Soon With Proceeds to be Donated to Charity
As a gamer who has spent countless hours immersed in the stark realities of war-torn worlds, I find myself both moved and inspired by 11 bit studios’ latest announcement for the ‘Forget Celebrations’ DLC in This War of Mine. The decision to donate all proceeds from this expansion pack to charitable organizations that support those directly affected by conflict is a powerful statement about the potential impact of gaming on real-world issues.
11-bit Studios unveiled the ‘Forgetting Festivities’ expansion pack for the game ‘This War of Mine.’ The revenue generated from this DLC will be contributed to its charitable partners such as War Child, Amnesty International, Liberty Ukraine Foundation, and Indie Games Poland.
2016 saw the debut of This War of Mine, a game that presented an authentic, harrowing depiction of war from a civilian’s point of view. Last month, all proceeds from the game’s sales in February 2022, amounting to $850K, were donated to the Ukrainian Red Cross. Additionally, earnings from the upcoming DLC will be distributed among charities.
The Forget Celebrations expansion is approaching for This War of Mine, delving into the tale of seasoned war journalist Katia. In Pogoren, where the grueling truths of war unfold, she endeavors to pen a book. However, when her home is annihilated by a missile strike, she finds herself thrust into a brutal struggle for existence while concurrently seeking remnants of her work.
