This “truly original” biopic that is “totally enthralling” shoots up trending chart on UK streamer

Biopic Better Man has shot up the trending charts after being added to Prime Video.

Last year’s cinema release narrates the tale of Robbie Williams and his journey to stardom, but it presents an unusual perspective by depicting the musician as a chimpanzee.

Following its recent premiere on Amazon Prime Video, the film “Better Man” has quickly gained popularity, ranking as the second most-viewed movie across the United Kingdom and Ireland.

The movie received widespread praise, earning an impressive 89% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. _Newsday_ described it as genuinely unique, while _Time Out_ found it utterly captivating.

In our five-star review when it initially hit cinemas, we declared it as one of the top films of the current year.

In the film “Better Man”, you’ll eventually understand that there was no other way to narrate Robbie Williams’ story. Despite his on-screen transformation into a chimpanzee, the movie maintains the same level of wit, self-awareness, sincerity, and emotional depth as its leading actor.

Though it received positive reviews, the film didn’t perform as well financially, earning just $22.5 million globally on a production budget of $110 million.

In this production, Jonno Davies assumes the part of chimpanzee Williams (using motion capture technology), and alongside him are acting veterans Alison Steadman from “Gavin & Stacey” and Steve Pemberton from “Inside No 9”.

While conversing with DS last year, Williams likened “Better Man” to a therapeutic session, sharing: “Following the showings, individuals approach me with flowing tears, praising me for courage that I find myself not understanding, but I appreciate it.

Beyond its commercial aspects, I understand that this is therapeutic. I have personally observed its effects, and I can attest to the fact that it promotes healing, which is truly remarkable.

Better Man is available to stream now for Prime Video subscribers.
