Tonight, the BBC is set to broadcast the drama “Mix Tape”, a program frequently likened to last year’s blockbuster hit “One Day”.
According to the book written by ex-BBC Radio 4 producer Jane Sanderson, titled with the same name, this four-part series narrates the story of a pair who shared a love for music during their adolescence in Sheffield and continued their relationship throughout their lives.
Despite parting paths and finding new connections thousands of miles apart, they found each other again on the internet, rekindling their mutual passion for ’80s hits. However, their present companions express caution…
In the leading roles, we find Teresa Palmer from “The Fall Guy” and Jim Sturgess known for “Cloud Atlas”, portraying Alison and Daniel respectively. Meanwhile, Florence Hunt, recognized for her work in “Bridgerton”, takes on a significant secondary part.
Tonight at 9pm, Episode 1 will be broadcast on BBC Two. The next episode, Episode 2, follows tomorrow at the same time. Subsequent episodes, namely Episodes 3 and 4, will air a week apart – one on Tuesday and the other on Wednesday. Alternatively, you can catch all four episodes straight away on BBC iPlayer.

The program initially aired in Australia about a month ago, having been partially shot there, so you can find some audience feedback on IMDb now.
One person described it as “a nostalgic choice for a delightful weekend viewing,” whereas another referred to it as “a heartwarming love tale” where Sturgess truly “outshines.
One viewer, known as Mix Tape, described it as a “deeply impactful viewing encounter,” and commended the director’s skill in employing subtlety to create a more profound emotional resonance.
