This Morning’s Martin Lewis opens up about “raw” family loss in emotional message
As a seasoned gamer with decades of virtual adventures under my belt, I can relate to Martin Lewis‘ raw and emotional journey in real life. Losing a loved one, especially at a young age, is a universal pain point that transcends the digital divide.
This morning, Martin Lewis shared a deeply personal moment on television, discussing the painful passing of his mother with raw emotion.
Yesterday, Martin Lewis, the founder of Money Saving Expert and host of The Martin Lewis Money Show, appeared on ITV’s program, discussing the topic of grief with Ben Shephard, Cat Deeley, Annabel Croft, and Agony Aunt Deirdre.
Martin discussed that it had been a while since his mother passed away, and he continues to grapple with the grief.
Forty years have passed since my mother’s death, and the pain remains as fresh today as it did then. He expressed this sentiment, his eyes welling up, adding that it’s important to remember not to feel guilty for finding happiness. This was particularly poignant for him, as he had wept on the anniversary this year.
During times of grief, individuals might experience moments of joy and then feel remorse for doing so. Here’s the thing: when you encounter opportunities to feel joyful amidst grief, seize them.
Martin admitted he had become emotional and stated that the topic was not the focus of the program for him, but rather, Ben offered insightful advice that could benefit others who experienced a similar loss at a young age.
Last February, I had the chance to step into the hosting seat of “This Morning” for a whole week. Ever since I told the producers that presenting this show was something I’ve always wanted to do, they made it happen – checking off a long-standing item from my gaming bucket list!
He maintained that it was an isolated incident, aligning with his statement from last year, during which there were whispers suggesting he could become a permanent host following the exits of Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.
In the mornings, This Morning is broadcast on ITV every weekday starting at 10am. On the other hand, you can catch up with episodes of The Martin Lewis Money Show on ITVX whenever it suits you.
