This morning on air, Eva Speakman shared that Davina McCall played a significant role in pulling her out of a deeply troubling situation, as she struggled to cope during the phase of perimenopause and found it hard to recognize herself.
56-year-old celebrity, who appears on the ITV show in a therapeutic and coaching role, was unexpectedly hit by health issues, leaving her momentarily stunned.
During the time of perimenopause, she found it difficult to sleep, gained weight, experienced heart palpitations, and had discomfort in her joints. These symptoms persisted, despite starting hormone replacement therapy (HRT).
Even though her dedicated husband Nik, aged 63, was by her side, she still felt profoundly lonely, until she connected with Davina, an advocate for menopause awareness.
In an interview with Closer magazine, she shared that Nik had previously reminded her of a statement made by Davina: “Davina told me, ‘Eva, if you ever face any issues during menopause, don’t hesitate to reach out to me.’
I messaged her, telling her about my hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and how it wasn’t improving things, adding that I felt incredibly down.

She possesses an impressive amount of knowledge. She assured me that improvements could be achieved, emphasizing that HRT involves more than just pills. She proved to be incredibly helpful, and her guidance helped pull me out of a difficult situation.
Davina advised her to visit a menopause specialist at a clinic, who suggested alternative treatments besides only taking HRT pills.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d rephrase that as: “I discovered success with a regimen that included applying an oestrogen gel and taking progesterone pills. These treatments have proven to be truly effective for me.
Later in the year, Eva stood up for her husband Nik when he faced criticism over his altered appearance from harsh online trolls.
As a committed devotee, I’m privileged to be associated with the remarkable duo, widely recognized as The Speakmans. Their area of expertise lies in transforming lives, offering guidance to individuals grappling with mental health challenges, traumatic experiences, and phobias.
In response to a rude comment from a harsh critic, Eva felt compelled to defend herself. The critic had stated that Nik should stop using “filler,” implying plastic surgery, but Eva strongly disagreed, asserting that Nik’s recent changes were due to steroid use, not fillers.
Following their multiple posts on Instagram, a critic left this comment: “You two look great together, but perhaps your partner should cut back on the injectables.
Eva hit back: ‘Please don’t be judgmental. He’s on steroids & can’t help the effect.’
‘Kicking off the week nicely on @thismorning, putting some sunshine into your Blue Monday. We wish you all a wonderful week so far, and a thrilling weekend to come with a smile!’

What a vile comment! Improve your behavior, it seems you’re using performance-enhancing drugs. I’ve experienced something similar when I was on them myself.
‘People can be cruel I am on steroids so I know the feeling when people judge’,
‘Clearly a steroid side effect, my mum had exactly the same. Such a mean comment to make’,
What is it about certain individuals that consistently leads them to behave rudely and critically? Despite this, the program remains fantastic, with excellent hosts providing valuable guidance 😊.
In the previous year, I found myself encountering significant challenges, largely due to online trolls, as my husband Nik and I gained regular appearances on This Morning.
In a recent conversation on my Dirty Laundry Podcast, I, as a lifestyle enthusiast, found myself the unfortunate target of unkind internet users who chose to lash out during my appearance.
Or, in a more conversational tone: On a recent episode of My Dirty Laundry podcast, I, your friendly neighborhood lifestyle expert, experienced some harsh words from Internet bullies after appearing on the show.
The pain was intensified because, prior to her widespread recognition, Eva had endured years of bullying throughout her life.
Initially, when we began working on television, I must admit that we encountered a lot of trolling, which was rather challenging for us at the start.
‘I was somebody that was bullied through my entire childhood, even up until I met Nik, actually.
Subsequently, Nik stepped in to assist me, gradually restoring my confidence and faith in myself once more.
Suddenly, these unfamiliar individuals began to speak cruelly and unkind words towards me. This prompted me to take a step back and ponder if what they said truly mattered, if their opinions held any significance, and why I chose to be in the public eye.
‘It’s to help people. Am I doing that? Yes.’
Eva said that with Nik’s help, she quickly found a way to stop the trolling getting to her.
She advised, ‘We swiftly started ignoring [them]. My recommendation would be to anyone: don’t respond, simply block them instead. They aren’t particularly important people, so it’s best to ignore and move forward.'” This version maintains the meaning of the original while making it more natural and easy to read for a wider audience.
‘If someone behaves unkindly, they don’t deserve your attention. Therefore, it’s best to cut them off right away.’

Eva and Nik have helped Holly Willoughby conquer her fears of ghosts and flying with their professional knowledge in the past.
It was mentioned that Holly had to leave the following week to co-host I’m A Celebrity, so it was pleasant for us to assist her in doing so.
Her fear stemmed from hosting a children’s television program, as she found herself in an aircraft with only two seats, where the pilot intentionally caused the engine to fail.
She had a moment of concern, thinking the plane was about to crash. But he reassured her, explaining it was a test they were conducting, and after a while, he successfully restarted the plane, ensuring everything was back to normal.
In that particular instance, when she was unaware of what was happening, an unexpected fear of flying arose within her. Over time, we helped her manage and work through that fear.
According to the Speakmans, their treatment proved incredibly effective as Holly, just a week after being treated by them, snapped a photo of herself flashing a thumbs up mid-flight and sent it to them as a token of gratitude.
