Cat Deeley left fans open-mouthed as she revealed her real name on This Morning on Wednesday.

During an emotionally moving part honoring “Thank A Teacher Day,” the 48-year-old host unexpectedly disclosed something personal while reconnecting with her former elementary school educator.

At a school in Surrey, Cat and fellow host Ben Shephard listened as kids shared tales about their beloved teachers. Then, an unexpected moment of emotion took place.

During the virtual session, Mrs. Cotterill, who had been Cat’s teacher back in school, unexpectedly used Cat’s genuine name instead of a nickname or pseudonym, leaving the audience momentarily surprised.

Addressing the star, she said: ‘Her name is Katie.’

Ben said to Mrs Cotterill: ‘Because you of course know her as Katie.’

Cat, who received a glowing report from Mrs Cotterill, revealed that her real name is Catherine. 

Instead, let’s say: During her early years, she was called Katie, which is quite different from the name her followers recognize now.

She mentioned that her real name is Catherine, but her grandfather often referred to her as Katie. Similarly, her parents and others would call her Katie too. However, when she was in trouble, they might also address her as Catherine.

Speaking about Cat, who was overjoyed at the sight of you, Mrs Cotterill commented: “She was incredibly lively and incredibly kind. She’s always eager to assist and participate. In fact, she’s simply a wonderful, well-rounded individual.

Born and raised in the city of Birmingham, the cat attended Grove Vale Junior School for its early education and later transitioned to Dartmouth High School.

At just 14, she made it to the national finals of a modelling competition run by the BBC show

Her achievement secured a modeling agreement, which was the commencement of her fame-filled career, and at this point, she became known as simply “Cat.

Last year, it was revealed that Cat and Ben took over the roles previously held by Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield as the fresh hosts of This Morning.

Ben expressed at the time: “This moment feels incredibly unique for Cat and me as we embark on the next phase of ‘This Morning.’ It’s a privilege to be given responsibility, to collaborate with Alison, Dermot, and the entire crew, both on-screen and off-, who consistently deliver outstanding work.

Cat previously fronted a whole host of shows, including So You Think You Can Dance? in the states.

At present, she’s living with her partner, Irish comedian Patrick Kielty, and they have two boys together, named James and Milo.

For approximately fourteen years, the family resided in Los Angeles, but following a distressing shopping mall shooting that occurred some time later, they chose to settle down in the United Kingdom instead.

Reflecting on the frequent occurrence of school shootings, Cat and Patrick found themselves hesitating before making any decisions.

‘Fear was part of this,’ Cat told the Daily Mail’s You magazine about leaving the US.
