This Morning shake-up as four beloved hosts team up for glam new ITV intro – but unimpressed fans brand it ‘forced’
As I delve deeper into this captivating narrative, it becomes increasingly apparent that the dynamic duo of Cat and Ben are navigating uncharted waters with grace and resilience. Having spent a considerable chunk of their careers in diverse realms of entertainment, they find themselves treading on unfamiliar ground with This Morning – a daily, multifaceted juggernaut that demands constant adaptation and readjustment.
On Tuesday, ITV aired a fresh promotional clip for the show titled “This Morning,” which includes Ben Shephard, Cat Deeley, Alison Hammond, and Dermot O’Leary.
The fun-filled advert was made to mark the four presenters’ return to the daytime show next month, and saw them taking to the roof of the Television Centre in West London.
On Mondays, you’ll see Ben and Cat again, and Alison and Dermot make their comeback on September 6, which is a Friday.
The team courageously climbed to a height of 45 feet using a cherry picker, eventually reaching the rooftop of the renowned building, where they positioned the well-known This Morning blue couch.
In vibrant, stylish attire, the quartet was seen enjoying themselves, filled with laughter and light-hearted banter, as captured by the uplifting advertisement.
Cat and Alison both donned matching fashionable ensembles, with Cat choosing a vibrant yellow suit and Alison going for a striking red one, both paired with white blouses.
Ben opted for red as well, sporting a polo neck shirt and cream pants, in contrast, Dermot went with a simple blue t-shirt and navy pants.
The promotion featured the hosts enjoying themselves as they took turns maneuvering a drone to film each other from atop the building.
In a playful manner, they competed over the controls while waving at the cameras during the brief 30-second video, which was accompanied by the music track “Talk About It” from the band Jungle.
First-time viewers found the advertisement lacking authenticity, expressing that it seemed overly contrived, and voicing displeasure about its frequent repetition.
Users posted on social media, expressing: ‘Every commercial break, they display a promoted graphic. I’m not quite sure what program they are advertising.’
I’m regretfully unable to rejoin the show featuring the uninteresting cat and Ben this morning, even with the frequent advertisements.
‘The advertisement seems poorly done; it appears contrived. Dermot doesn’t seem enthusiastic about his role, while Cat is frequently seen with Alison instead of Ben. It appears that a much-needed facelift, which could have been beneficial when Phil and Holly were still part of the show, is not on the horizon.’

Regarding the latest promotion, Editor Martin Frizell from “This Morning” commented: “Kudos to our promotions team for coming up with and carrying out this brilliant concept.”
It’s impressive that you managed to transport such a big couch, along with four people, onto the rooftop during one of the sweltering hot summer days!
He then gushed: ‘We all couldn’t be more excited to welcome back Ben, Cat, Alison and Dermot post their summer break, and I know all had great fun filming this promo.
‘Their energy certainly matches the fresh and bold content the show has coming up.’
Last week, the presenters were caught on camera preparing an extraordinary promotional video. Furthermore, Cat and Ben shared some exclusive insights about their work on the show with TopMob.
In March of this year, they took over as co-hosts for This Morning, replacing Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield after their departures.
Cat mentioned that it has been an educational journey for her since she hasn’t worked on a program quite like this one before.

“Although I’m accustomed to live television, working on This Morning has required me to adapt a bit to its unpredictable ups and downs.”
Upon looking back at our first performance, she mused: “It’s hard to believe it’s almost been half a year. Yes, we began in March, but everything leading up to that point was somewhat hazy as I’d just returned from the U.S. and our initial interactions were over video call. We hadn’t really engaged much before the actual start, right?”
With a flushed complexion, Ben answered, “No, we arrived on Sunday morning, but I had stayed out the previous night and got only around three hours of sleep.”
Cat exclaimed: ‘Well you certainly didn’t tell me that on the day!’
Ben admitted: ‘No, I was being very well behaved and I then had to go to West Ham to do some filming for the show too!
Indeed, that time was quite extraordinary – something we had anticipated and eagerly prepared for. Once we began, it seemed as if time itself accelerated. The primary reason for this swift passage of events is the abundance of material packed into each episode.
Cat posted: ‘Some days feel just like a thrilling roller coaster ride! I recall that earlier this year we went from discussing Rishi Sunak, to the cast of Chorus Line, interior design with Kelly Hoppen, meeting singer Natalie Imbruglia, and running into Toadie from Neighbours.’
In simpler terms, they considered the 2023 National Television Awards nomination for This Morning in the Daytime category as an honor or privilege, as the show hadn’t been nominated for 12 consecutive years prior to that.
Cat exclaimed, “I can hardly believe it! Could it be true? Were you wearing your glasses when you checked the list?”

Beginning Monday, 2nd September, unite with Ben and Cat for a fresh season of This Morning. Meanwhile, starting from Friday, 6th September, Alison and Dermot will be joining in at 10am on ITV, ITVX, STV, and the STV Player.
