This Morning life coach Michelle Elman reveals she has to have brain surgery after an MRI scan revealed a new cyst

This Morning life coach Michelle Elman has revealed she will undergo brain surgery.

The 31-year-old relationship expert had a brain scan on Tuesday that revealed a cyst and the need to replace a medical implant containing a magnet.

Michelle was born with hydrocephalus, a condition where too much fluid surrounds the brain. Doctors later found she also had a brain tumor. A magnetic device helps manage the fluid flow.

The TV personality shared a personal update on Instagram, telling her followers she’s going through a difficult time with both good and bad experiences. She explained that she received some upsetting news that she wasn’t ready to handle, making for a particularly tough morning.

Michelle recently shared that she needs another brain surgery. Doctors discovered a new cyst in her brain, and the magnetic implant she previously received also needs to be replaced.

This isn’t something I need to deal with right away, but it does need to get done. Now I need to find a good time to fit it in without causing too much disruption to my daily routine.

I’ll eventually need to put my life on hold to handle this, probably next year. But until then, I’m continuing with things as normal.

Michelle explained she prefers not to discuss her health, because she’s always focused on living a full life beyond any illness or limitations. She’s spent her life expanding her horizons and not letting health issues define her.

Before she turned 20, the presenter underwent 15 surgeries to address serious medical issues, including blockages in her intestines and a punctured intestine.

She explained that her medical history is complicated, but she’s accepting of it. She feels grateful for the life she’s lived, saying she’s made the most of every moment and doesn’t have any regrets.

In a 2018 appearance on Loose Women, Michelle described the experience of nearly dying, explaining what it felt like when her heart stopped briefly after brain surgery.

When she was eleven years old, she had brain surgery, during which her heart stopped. She recalls a sensation of floating above herself while it happened.

She described death as peaceful and calm, hoping to ease people’s fears about it not being as frightening as they imagine.

The relationship guru explained: ‘I still remember floating above my bed.

It’s comforting to know that death is a peaceful and calm experience, and I want people to understand that. Even in your final moments, it can be truly serene, which offers a sense of comfort.

I thought only a few minutes had passed, but it was actually just a few seconds. I clearly recall what happened, even though I was apparently unconscious or had my eyes closed at the time.

‘I didn’t talk about it for years but it makes me sound a bit crazy.’

Michelle experienced a devastating heartbreak in April 2023 when she found out her partner of three years had betrayed her, shortly after they got engaged.

Michelle recently told the Daily Mail that she questioned why she wasn’t feeling angrier at times, but reassured herself that the anger would surface eventually.

I wasn’t ready to feel those emotions yet. What surprised people most, I think, was that I didn’t get angry right away, and even when I did, it wasn’t very strong.

As a life coach, I’m very familiar with anger, and I surprisingly didn’t feel as angry as I expected to.
