In the perpetually dark, cyberpunk city where the game takes place, D1AL-OGUE offers a unique puzzle experience. You play as a technician tasked with repairing both the physical bodies and emotional states of android clients. As you work, you’ll uncover their deepest concerns and regrets, leading you to contemplate what it truly means to be human and possess a soul.
I discovered D1AL-OGUE in February after Steam suggested it because I enjoy Cyberpunk 2077, and it’s easy to see why. The game is set in a dark, futuristic city, much like the underbelly of Night City. However, instead of Night City, you’ll explore Chroma City, a place perpetually shrouded in darkness and lit only by commercial neon lights. You play as Chris, who runs a repair clinic in a quiet part of the shopping district, fixing androids called E.V.E.s. Using a tool called D1AL, you’ll solve puzzles to repair their bodies, but you’ll also uncover their personal stories and struggles.
A Diverse Cast of Characters Await
In this story, you’ll meet four distinct androids—Pray, Lianne, Orca, and the enigmatic Blade—who will become regular patients at your clinic. As you help them with their issues, their personalities and stories will lead you to uncover hidden truths about yourself. While the game, D1AL-OGUE, features engaging puzzles, it’s the characters that truly make it special. You’ll get to know Pray, who seems gentle at first but has a surprising amount of spirit, Lianne, a pharmaceutical employee who aids in uncovering the protagonist’s past, and Orca, a dedicated healer who constantly puts herself in danger to protect others. Through their visits and personal stories, the game explores profound questions about what it means to be human, whether souls are exclusive to humans, and how these advanced androids can experience such complex emotions and thoughts.
Four Endings Will See How Your Story Ends In Chroma City
In the game D1AL-OGUE, the player’s choice of date to the Polar Night Day festival in Chroma City leads to one of four different endings. This event, taking place on the longest day of the year with the city brightly lit, forces Chris to make a difficult decision. But as he learns surprising things about his sister, he’s also forced to deal with his own past and future, and to confront the complexities of loss in a world where death isn’t necessarily final.
If you’re looking for a short, engaging game, D1AL-OGUE is a fantastic choice. You can finish it in just 3–4 hours – I recommend playing it all at once! The best part? It’s completely free. You can add it to your game library and replay it anytime, especially if you want to unlock all the different endings. It’s amazing that a game as good as D1AL-OGUE is available for free, and surprising that more people haven’t discovered it. With a very positive reception on Steam, it’s definitely worth checking out this heartfelt puzzle game inspired by Cyberpunk 2077.
