This “devastating” British drama that’s “worthy of your time” has jumped up Netflix’s UK chart
The critically acclaimed British drama titled “We Live in Time,” featuring the talented duo Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield, is seeing a significant rise on Netflix’s rankings.
In simpler terms, the 2024 movie titled “The Connection” – directed by John Crowley and penned by Nick Payne – follows Almut (played by Pugh) and Tobias’s (portrayed by Garfield) relationship over a ten-year span. Instead of following a traditional timeline, the story unfolds in an unconventional manner, with the dramatic events presented out of sequence.
Earlier this month, I stumbled upon a heartwarming romantic drama that had just landed on Netflix in both the UK and Ireland. To my delight, it quickly gained popularity among viewers, skyrocketing to the sixth spot on Netflix’s charts on Friday, 11th July. However, it has since slipped down to the eighth position according to FlixPatrol.

As a gaming enthusiast, diving into a movie review: I recently watched a flick featuring Kerry Godliman and Adam James in supporting roles that left me thoroughly impressed. As a gamer putting down my controller for a moment, I’ve got to say that Pugh and Garfield make an unbeatable team in this heartfelt, intricately woven tale of love. Empire Magazine calls it endearing and fulfilling, going as far as to claim that it’s worth investing your time into. Stylist, on the other hand, describes it as a gut-wrenching yet stunning piece, a true masterpiece not to be missed.
Gathering the story together brings a delightfully fulfilling feeling, as expressed by The Observer. Meanwhile, Time Out remarked: “Crowley skillfully casts his characters and guides with a gentle touch, allowing emotions to unfold authentically and honestly. This film manages to feel genuine, which is rare for romantic movies.
Previously, Pugh and Garfield only talked to Digital Spy upon its release. They revealed that a particular scene where their characters ice-skated was tough to shoot.
Garfield admitted, “I’m really clumsy on ice. It’s just never been a skill I excel at. Florence found my icy struggles amusing, reminiscent of Bambi,” he recollected. Meanwhile, his co-star chimed in, “Well, I’m not exactly graceful either, but I manage.
