This “comforting” detective drama that “offers something new” has just been added to UK streaming

In the UK, the innovative detective drama, previously known as “Sight Unseen“, has now found a fresh streaming platform for viewers to enjoy.

Unseen but Not Forgotten” revolves around Tess Avery, a previous detective now blind, who relies on a distant visual aid, Sunny Patel, to maneuver through life and unravel mysteries.

In this edge-of-your-seat detective thriller, a retired blind homicide investigator named Tess Avery joins forces with Sunny Patel, a distant visual guide who struggles with leaving his safe space, to catch criminals that have slipped through the grasp of law enforcement.

The first season of the series debuted in 2024, comprising ten episodes, with a second season premiering as recently as January this year.

You can now stream the initial three episodes of its debut season on Paramount+, with fresh episodes being released every week.

So far, the show doesn’t have a critic score on Rotten Tomatoes, but out of the four reviews posted, three of them expressed positive opinions.

The Globe and Mail commended the show for its comforting likeness, stating: “Ultimately, Sight Unseen provides something fresh. However, at its heart, it’s simply one of those cozy police procedurals that fans of the genre eagerly seek after a tiring day.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the show is intriguing from a theoretical standpoint, but could use improvement in execution. They further noted that it’s likely to stimulate deep thinking, particularly among personal injury lawyers.

Simultaneously, Brioux TV extolled the talent of lead actress Lewis, remarking that her performance was captivating and worth noting. They further stated, “She excels in comedic moments, yet delivers a chilling intensity during dramatic scenes… Her unique ability to convince us that Tess is genuine is truly remarkable. It’s an experience not to be missed.

As a fervent admirer, I found myself echoing the sentiments of Neely Swanson from The Beverly Hills Courier when she stated, “Let’s keep ‘Sight Unseen’ shrouded in mystery.

Season 1 of Sight Unseen is available to stream on Paramount+.
