These Are the Celebrities Who Will Perform at Trump’s Inauguration

In a turn of events, the esteemed country artist Carrie Underwood is set to sing “America the Beautiful” at the upcoming inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump, scheduled for next week. Meanwhile, the iconic 1970s group Village People will entertain audiences at two separate inaugural functions.

On January 20th, Underwood, who initially gained fame through “American Idol,” is scheduled to perform prior to Trump’s swearing-in ceremony at the U.S. Capitol, as indicated by an obtained copy of the inaugural program shared with The Associated Press on Monday.

On Monday, Underwood expressed his gratitude for being invited to perform at the Inauguration and be a tiny piece of this significant occasion. He feels deeply honored and is touched by the opportunity, especially since it’s a time when we all need to unite in harmony and look forward with hope.

In the late 1970s, the American band known as the Village People gained popularity through their catchy dance-pop tunes that encouraged audience participation and their vibrant stage personas. Their most famous song, “Y.M.C.A.,” is often seen as a symbol of pride within the LGBTQ+ community, and it was frequently played at Trump’s rallies during the last election, along with another hit titled “Macho Man.

An American disco band is scheduled to put on a show at one of Donald Trump’s inauguration events, as well as a rally he’s organizing in Washington D.C., the day prior to his inauguration ceremony.

The band stated on their Facebook page Monday that while they understand this might not please everyone, they feel strongly that music should be free from political affiliations. Their song Y.M.C.A. is a universal anthem intended to unify following a contentious election season where our favored candidate didn’t win. As a result, the band, VILLAGE PEOPLE, plans to perform at several events during the 2025 inauguration of Donald J. Trump, aiming to use music as a means to bring the nation together.

Additionally, two musicians particularly admired by the incoming president are slated to perform at the inauguration ceremony. These artists are country singer Lee Greenwood and opera singer Christopher Macchio.

As a film enthusiast, I’m eagerly anticipating the grand cinematic spectacle unfolding this weekend in Washington. The festivities will commence with a dazzling fireworks display at Trump’s golf club in Sterling, Virginia, followed by a campaign-like rally in our nation’s capital. We’ll also pay our respects at Arlington National Cemetery and indulge in some star-studded galas before the former president takes his oath to assume the role of our next president, setting the stage for what promises to be an unforgettable cinematic sequel.

The second inauguration of Trump is likely to be a distinct event compared to previous presidential transitions in America, as he chose not to attend the swearing-in ceremony for Democratic President Joe Biden held at the Capitol. Even during this ceremony, signs of the violent insurrection that occurred on January 6, 2021, when Trump’s supporters stormed the building, were still evident.

On Monday, the organizing committee for Trump’s inauguration unveiled a timetable for a four-day series of events, with the January 20th swearing-in ceremony at their center. It’s expected that Biden will be in attendance as well.

According to Steve Witkoff and Kelly Loeffler, who are co-chairing the inauguration, President Trump is committed to bringing unity to our nation by emphasizing power, safety, and prosperity within his ‘America First’ policy.

1. Witkoff has been appointed as Trump’s upcoming representative for the Middle East, while Loeffler, a former Georgia senator, has been chosen by Trump to lead the Small Business Administration.

or

2. Trump has selected Witkoff to serve as his new Middle East envoy, and Loeffler, a former Georgia senator, has been chosen for the role of running the Small Business Administration.

or

3. Trump’s choices for the Middle East envoy and Small Business Administration head are Witkoff (formerly appointed to the Middle East role) and Loeffler (a previous Georgia senator), respectively.

Witkoff and Loeffler stated that the 2025 inauguration events will symbolize President-elect Trump’s momentous second term in the White House, which is a result of the American public’s firm decision to ‘Make America Great Again.'”

Or:

“According to Witkoff and Loeffler, the 2025 inauguration will embody President-elect Trump’s remarkable comeback to the White House and the American people’s resolute choice for ‘Making America Great Again’.

This coming Saturday, Donald Trump plans to participate in an evening event and fireworks show at his Trump National Golf Club located in Sterling, Virginia. In a separate engagement, Vice President-elect JD Vance is set to go to a welcome gathering for the new Cabinet members and will also host a dinner.

On Sunday, the newly elected president will attend a solemn wreath-laying event at Arlington National Cemetery, followed by a “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) victory celebration rally at Capital One Arena in central Washington D.C. The Village People are set to entertain at this event.

The Republican’s inauguration day agenda features a White House tea party, a swearing-in ceremony at the Capitol, a lunch hosted by Congress, a Pennsylvania Avenue parade, and three evening galas.

At the first set of events are three balls: one called the Commander in Chief Ball, designed for military personnel; another, the Liberty Inaugural Ball, aimed at supporters of Trump and featuring a performance by the Village People; lastly, there’s the Starlight Ball, intended for big-ticket contributors. Remarkably, it has been scheduled that Trump will address all three gatherings.

Following the inauguration of the new president, approximately 7,500 individuals will take part in the parade, which will include first responders, veterans organizations, and school marching bands. Notably, first responders from Butler County, Pennsylvania – the location where Trump survived an assassination attempt – are expected to be among those participating.

Melania Trump, future first lady, will have tea with the Bidens; however, during Biden’s inauguration in 2021, the Trumps declined an invitation for a pre-inaugural tea, opting instead to depart before President Biden was sworn in. Later, when Joe Biden extended an invitation to then-President-elect Trump to the White House in November, Melania chose not to attend the visit.

As the 47th president, Trump’s first full day falls on Tuesday, which includes a morning National Prayer Service.)

According to Trump’s inauguration team, Greenwood will play as Trump makes his entrance to take the oath. On the other hand, Macchio has been chosen by Trump to perform the National Anthem towards the conclusion of the event.

In July, Macchio took the stage at the Republican National Convention, he later appeared at Trump’s comeback rally in Butler, Pennsylvania in October, following a previous rally that was disrupted by an assassination attempt. Additionally, Macchio performed during Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally which received criticism for offensive and racially insensitive jokes from some of the speakers.

As a film enthusiast, I eagerly anticipate the upcoming delivery of the invocation by none other than Franklin Graham, the esteemed son of the legendary pastor Billy Graham, and the venerable New York Cardinal Timothy Dolan.

Trump’s initial inauguration ceremony in 2017 showcased acts such as the Rockettes, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, and young singing sensation Jackie Evancho from “America’s Got Talent.

In addition to the formal events Trump will participate in, many informal gatherings and celebrations are taking place in Washington D.C. during the inauguration. These include various unofficial balls, such as the one hosted by Turning Point USA that Vance plans to attend, as well as the Coronation Ball, the All American Ball, the Crypto Ball, and the Legacy of Freedom Ball organized by the Black Conservative Federation. Supporters are expected to participate in these events to honor and congratulate the incoming president.

Notable attendees at the Legacy of Freedom Ball this coming Sunday are anticipated to be rappers Waka Flocka and Fivio Foreign, YouTube sensation Anton Daniels, ex-NFL athlete Antonio Brown, as well as podcasters and YouTubers The Cartier Family.
