These 3 talking heads worked at Fox Sports and have something to say about Skip Bayless, Joy Taylor lawsuit
There’s been a lot of chatter on social media about the accusations in a lawsuit, where it’s claimed that Fox Sports talk show host Skip Bayless sexually harassed his hairstylist and that Joy Taylor, another FS1 host, had romantic relationships with two high-profile coworkers.
It wasn’t shocking to see three notable sports commentators, each with a past at Fox Sports, suddenly express their opinions on TV.
According to Marcellus Wiley, a retired NFL athlete who used to work for FS1, the court case validated his earlier suspicions.
Previously employed by Fox Sports, Jason Whitlock acknowledged his caution around the network’s dressing area populated by women, but subsequently made excessively sexist remarks about Taylor.
Furthermore, Stephen A. Smith, who was instrumental in launching debate sports television alongside Bayless on ESPN’s “First Take” between 2012 and 2016, essentially acted as a defense advocate for Bayless, emphasizing that the lawsuit required careful consideration.
Noushin Faraji, a hairstylist at Fox Sports, filed a lawsuit in the California Superior Court of Los Angeles (first reported by Front Office Sports). The lawsuit, spanning over 42 pages, accuses Jason Bayless of making sexual advances towards her for years. She also claimed that he offered to pay her $1.5 million for such encounters. Furthermore, she alleged a harmful work environment at Fox Sports L.A., asserting that Taylor was romantically involved with executive vice president Charlie Dixon and Emmanuel Acho, a former NFL player who co-hosted “Speak for Yourself” on FS1 with Taylor and LeSean McCoy from 2022 to 2023.

According to court documents, Noushin Faraji alleges that former Fox Sports host Skip Bayless made inappropriate sexual proposals towards her, such as suggesting a financial compensation of $1.5 million for engaging in intimate activities with him.
It seems that a video from 2022 on Acho’s social media platform was removed, where he showcased the upcoming show while expressing admiration for Taylor. In this clip, he stated something along the lines of “I think it’s important to acknowledge how tough it is for her to be in her current position. All too often, there’s a lack of respect and equality for women in sports, and their voices are seldom heard.
Not only does Joy shine on TV as a Black woman, but as a thoughtful opinionist, offering perspectives that aren’t just echoing men’s thoughts but adding her own original and individual opinions. It’s challenging to pull off, but you’ve managed it admirably. … Joy, well done and I eagerly anticipate collaborating with you.
Wiley, who teamed up with Whitlock and later Acho on “Speak for Yourself” from 2018-2022, discussed the lawsuit on his podcast, stating, “I wasn’t aware that Charlie Dixon and Joy Taylor were involved romantically. However, upon learning this fact, I must admit it sheds light on many things. It provides clarity for me.
I’ve heard rumors about Emmanuel Acho and I pairing up, not just once but on several occasions, even as recently as a couple of weeks ago. It’s been suggested that they should collaborate on a show due to these accusations in the lawsuit, claiming they were in a relationship and working together to achieve this goal, allegedly with Charlie and Emmanuel Acho.
It seems that Wiley was alluding to a recent spate of changes on Fox Sports talk shows. Previously, he had been replaced by Acho and McCoy in the revamped “Speak” back in 2022. However, last August, Acho and McCoy switched to “Undisputed” to fill Bayless’s spot, who was dismissed due to falling viewership numbers. Keyshawn Johnson and Paul Pierce, who were teaming with Bayless on “Undisputed,” then moved over to the rebranded “Speak” alongside Taylor.
Wiley remarked, ‘Unveiling the mystery behind Charlie.’ If it’s true, I’m reconsidering my perspective on my own past, as well as the history of many other talents on that network. It changes things significantly, and unfortunately, not for the better… For instance, consider if Charlie is rumored to be involved with Joy Taylor and Emmanuel Acho, while there’s someone who isn’t linked to Joy Taylor.

The dismissal of Roger Ailes from his position as Fox News chairman in July 2016 due to sexual harassment allegations marked the end of a career for one of the most influential and contentious personalities in the United States’ media landscape.
On his show “Fearless,” Whitlock reminisced about his experiences and conversations with Faraji during their tenure at Fox Sports, but he also made some critical remarks regarding Taylor.
Whitlock stated, “I admired Noushin and considered her a decent individual.” He also added that he believed it was important to treat Noushin, as well as all the women in hair and makeup at Fox Sports, with care. Anyone familiar with his reputation at Fox Sports would understand why he approached them cautiously, saying very little because he didn’t want to give them any power over him.
Instead of focusing on Taylor when Whitlock did, he tried to use her rumored romantic connections with colleagues as an emblem of societal issues he believes she represents. Moreover, he made remarks about her physical attributes that are not suitable for repetition by The Times.
Joy Taylor represents the essence of feminism, Black queens empowerment, and diversity, equity, and inclusion movements,” he stated. “She advocates for equal representation of women in various shows, which can lead to certain outcomes as seen in this lawsuit and throughout American media. The system has been structured in a way that fosters chaos, division, inefficiency, and corruption, which is what we’re witnessing.
I tended to stay away from Joy Taylor for the most part, not out of dislike but more as a precaution, given my nature. I’ve learned over time what I’m capable of. In essence, it was like an inner voice whispering, ‘Jay, maintain your distance; that’s trouble waiting to happen.’

This year, it’s Jenny Cavnar who has been chosen as the main commentator for the Oakland Athletics games. Notably, she is the first female to assume this position within a Major League Baseball team.
On “The Stephen A. Smith Show,” Smith opted for a more elevated path, expressing that he’s deeply saddened by the situation involving his ex-colleague, Bayless, but clarified that he lacks any information regarding the accuracy of Faraji’s claims.
I haven’t stepped foot inside that Fox Sports building for over 20 years. I’m not here to criticize Ms. Faraji; I don’t have enough information about the situation. I’ve known Skip Bayless as long as I can remember, and it’s hard to believe this could be him. The Skip Bayless I’ve known is stingy with his money, often reluctant to even spend $15. To imagine him in this position is quite surprising at the very least, and all I can say is that it doesn’t seem like the Skip Bayless I’m familiar with.
However, just because I don’t have any personal insights into this matter doesn’t make me privy to any secret information. In fact, I can confirm that I’m not in possession of such knowledge, and I prefer to stay out of it as it’s risky for those who claim to know when they actually don’t.
Smith mentioned that individuals with some familiarity about Faraji consider her accusations as significant, and they should not be dismissed casually.
The hairdresser in question is known for being very detail-oriented, according to those I’ve spoken to recently who know her. She has a habit of documenting things, which seems to be her usual approach.

On his podcast and cable news appearances, the host of “First Take” has been addressing topics that extend beyond sports, even accepting contributor positions at certain networks, as he claims.
