There’s no episode 9 of The Serpent Queen season 2 tonight

As a seasoned gamer of historical dramas, I must say that last week’s episode of The Serpent Queen was nothing short of a rollercoaster ride through the bloody halls of power. It was a brutal reminder that even the serpent queen, Catherine de’ Medici, isn’t immune to the chaos she creates.

In the previous week, the second episode of “The Serpent Queen” was extraordinarily intense and thrilling, if such a description suits it. However, it’s important to note that we don’t endorse such violence in real life. The episode depicted a horrific bloodbath, with numerous innocent lives lost unjustly. Yet, for characters like Edith and the Bourbon brothers, their fates seemed fitting, as it appears they received what was coming to them. As for the Guises, they were indeed imprisoned, according to the storyline, at least from my perspective.

In a clever twist, Catherine de’ Medici has lived up to her nickname, the Serpent Queen, by skillfully executing her complex scheme, and so far, it seems flawless. However, she may be in for a surprise as both Louis and Antoine Bourbon have managed to survive – something she probably didn’t expect. Despite their questionable fates, I must admit that their relationship is fascinating and watching them interact has been quite enjoyable. Consequently, should season 3 of The Serpent Queen materialize, it will be a relief to know they’ll still be part of the story. Starz has yet to reveal whether or not there will be another season.

Last week’s episode was number 8, which might have led you to believe that there would be a total of ten episodes in the second season of The Serpent Queen. However, that was actually the finale. Consequently, there will be no episode 9 tonight or at any point during this season. The second season, just like the first, consists of eight episodes.

Although it’s not too complex, the scheduling of episodes in this series can sometimes be puzzling. If you were expecting another episode of the period drama tonight, I regret to inform you that was actually the season finale last week. To catch up on what happens next, we’ll have to patiently wait for a possible third season.

Previously, I expressed my belief that The Serpent Queen should continue with season 3. There are numerous paths the storyline can take, and I’m particularly curious about Anjou becoming King of France. Although he may lack wisdom, he’s currently taking Catherine’s advice, which makes for an intriguing dynamic. I hope Starz reveals some news soon! Are you looking forward to a third season?
