There’s 25 new and returning shows coming to streaming in September 2024!
HBO/Max
- My Brilliant Friend season 4 – Sept. 4
- The Penguin – Sept. 19
As a die-hard fan of all things entertainment, I must say that September 2024 is shaping up to be an absolutely fantastic month for TV enthusiasts like myself!
DC enthusiasts, mark your calendars! The much-anticipated series featuring Colin Farrell as “The Penguin” is set to debut on September 19, 2024, airing at 9 p.m. ET across HBO and Max. However, be aware that only the first episode will be released that day. From then on, new episodes will arrive each Sunday, with the second episode premiering on September 29, also at the same time. The series consists of a total of eight episodes, so stay tuned!
I’m thrilled to delve deeper into the story of Oz Cobb, also known as the Penguin, and witness his rise in Gotham City’s criminal underworld! I can’t wait for this show that offers additional insights into familiar characters.
FX/Hulu
- English Teacher – Sept. 2
- Tell Me Lies season 2– Sept. 4
- The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives – Sept. 6
- The Old Man season 2 – Sept. 12
- How to Die Alone – Sept. 13
- American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez – Sept. 17
There’s a lot happening on FX and Hulu in September, but it’s definitely the return of “Tell Me Lies” season 2 that has us the most thrilled! The second season finds Lucy and Stephen back at college, struggling after their breakup and seemingly trapped in a revamped version of their tumultuous relationship, as suggested by the synopsis.
Absolutely, there will be a lot of excitement and surprises unfolding between these two characters, plus internal conflicts within their group of friends as well. The first two episodes kick off on Wednesday, September 4, with a new episode airing each week afterwards until the season finale on October 16. I’m particularly excited about Tom Ellis joining the cast!
Apple TV+
- Slow Horses season 4 – Sept. 4
- La Maison – Sept. 20
- Midnight Family – Sept. 25
As a devoted gamer, let me share my excitement about the upcoming series, “Slow Horses,” on Apple TV+. This show is hands down one of the best they’ve got, and it easily makes it to my top favorites! The blend of mystery and comedy is truly unique, giving it an edge that few shows can match.
“Slow Horses” is a darkly humorous espionage drama that follows a dysfunctional team of British intelligence agents who serve in a dumping ground department of MI5 known un-affectionately as Slough House. Season four opens with a bombing that detonates personal secrets, rocking the already unstable foundations of Slough House.
Prime Video
- The Money Game – Sept. 10
- A Very Royal Scandal – Sept. 19
Unfortunately, this month, Amazon Prime Video may not have a lot of fresh shows or seasons to offer. Fortunately, there are other streaming platforms available for your viewing pleasure. Even though the selection on Prime Video might seem slim, it doesn’t mean there’s nothing worth watching. If you’re into real-life dramas and intriguing stories, make sure to catch A Very Royal Scandal. This 3-episode series delves into the sensational interview between Prince Andrew and journalist Emily Maitlis, where he discusses his involvement with Jeffrey Epstein and Virginia Giuffre. The entire series will be released on Thursday, Sept. 19.
Peacock
- Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist – Sept. 5
- Colin Jost and Michael Che Present: New York After Dark (comedy special) – Sept. 12
In Peacock’s upcoming drama series, Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist, we travel back to the ’70s. This timeframe is significant due to Muhammad Ali’s famous comeback fight in 1970, an event that not only transformed his life but also paved the way for Atlanta to be known as the “Black Mecca.” However, an afterparty hosted by Chicken Man takes a dramatic turn and becomes what may be the city’s most daring criminal heist ever. Did he orchestrate it? Will he manage to prove his innocence?
The first three episodes will be released on premiere day – Thursday, Sept. 5, 2024. Be sure to then tune in to the 8-episode season with one new episode each week until the finale. The series stars Kevin Hart, Tarji P. Henson, Samuel L. Jackson, Don Cheadle, and Terrence Howard.
Paramount+
- Tulsa King season 2 – Sept. 13
- Frasier season 2 – Sept. 19
We’re nearly there again with Season 2 of “Frasier”, and we’re eagerly anticipating it! This time around, Frasier revisits his radio past at KACL in an episode set in Seattle, as suggested by the plot summary. Doesn’t that sound thrilling? The second season of “Frasier” kicks off on Thursday, Sept. 19, with the first two episodes airing simultaneously, followed by a new episode every week thereafter.
Netflix
- Outlast season 2 – Sept. 4
- The Perfect Couple – Sept. 5
