As a seasoned gamer who has weathered countless breaks and delays in the world of television, I can’t help but feel a twinge of familiar disappointment upon hearing that The Irrational season 2 is on a break. However, being a long-time viewer of various series, I understand the necessity of these pauses for both cast and crew to recharge their batteries before diving back into the intricate world of this gripping crime drama.
There is some terrible news as we start off this post. The Irrational season 2 is on a break.
As a devoted viewer, I eagerly tuned into The Irrational’s Season 2, Episode 7, marking the end of 2024’s run. Now, as the show takes its well-deserved winter break, I find myself in the uncomfortable position of having to patiently wait until next year for more captivating episodes to grace our screens.
Why is The Irrational on a break?
During the winter season, it’s typical for TV shows to have a break. This is done for several reasons, one major one being to give the cast and production team a well-deserved rest from shooting. They’ve got a few episodes already filmed and stored (in the can) that will air in January. After that, they’ll need to catch up on filming again.
One factor is that during this season, audience engagement with linear television ratings tends to decrease. This is due to a number of reasons such as increased family gatherings and holiday celebrations which often lead to people spending time together watching holiday-themed movies or attending Christmas parties and local events. Consequently, fewer individuals remain at home to watch TV, resulting in lower linear ratings. This dip in viewership can potentially put shows on the verge of cancellation since it may appear as if they are not being watched by a large enough audience.
When will The Irrational season 2 return in 2025?
The good news is that this break isn’t all that long. It’s a little more than a month.
On Tuesday, January 7th, the second season of “The Irrational” will resume its broadcast at 10 p.m. (Eastern/Pacific Time). Each episode will conclude Tuesdays, making them a consistent choice for your viewing schedule. However, we have to admit that this timeslot can be challenging. We’re a bit concerned about the future of the show given the linear ratings due to its timing.
In the upcoming episode, titled “Ghost Ship,” there’s a sneak peek, yet it doesn’t reveal much about the case that Alec and Marisa will be working on. Rose reappears in this installment, let’s hope she stops trying to end things with Alec. A corpse is discovered in the forest, and as of now, we don’t know how it ties into the show’s title.
