There are more family secrets to uncover in Tracker Season 2

As a long-time fan of gripping crime dramas, I can’t help but feel my heart race at the prospect of diving deeper into the Shaw family mystery with the upcoming Season 2 of Tracker! The first season left us hanging with more questions than answers, and it seems that we’re finally going to get some much-needed closure.

In the debut season of Tracker, we were drawn into the enigma surrounding the Shaw family. The series merely hinted at this mystery, but with the arrival of Tracker Season 2, we’re promised a deeper exploration of it.

Initially, following their father’s demise, the Shaw siblings parted ways. Colter stayed with their mom, Dory lived with other relatives – an aunt and uncle, while Russell opted for a military life. Their upbringing varied significantly, and it seems they were each given distinct accounts about something.

Let’s delve into the cause behind their separation, a mystery that can be unraveled by introducing a character who has been absent from our storyline since the beginning of this series.

Mary Shaw will return in Tracker Season 2

According to TVLine’s report, Wendy Crewson is set to reappear as the Shaw siblings’ mother, Mary. In the second episode, she warned Colter not to trust Russell, and ever since then, she has been working to keep them apart. However, their reunion occurred despite her efforts. The brothers eventually reunited partly due to Dory’s advice.

We still need to build out what exactly happened [after] their father’s death. Remember, Dory went to go live with an aunt and uncle… [Russell] joined the military…. They each have pieces of the story, from different sides, that they’ve never shared with Colter.

Let’s delve into what’s been happening with Mary since the demise of the Shaw patriarch. To shed light on this, let’s examine some of her driving forces.

Why does Dory have some of their father’s journals in Tracker?

It became evident to Colter that Dory possesses a few of their father’s diaries. This discovery leaves him with the suspicion that his brothers and sisters might be concealing something important from him, prompting him to uncover the reason behind this secrecy. Not only Dory but also Russell appears to be withholding parts of the story from Colter.

It seems Mary continually expresses her intention to shield Colter. However, it’s puzzling as to why she might wish to separate Colter from his other siblings. One could speculate that she felt she was acting in his best interests and possibly making the correct decision, albeit a difficult one.

It’s been revealed that someone murdered Colter’s dad, but Russell denies any involvement. However, he does admit there was someone present that fateful night. Could it be that Mary made the decision to keep her kids apart for their own safety? Did Dory decide to start digging because she found newfound freedom thanks to her relatives? Was Russell able to gain a bit of autonomy and information due to his whereabouts on that specific night?

There’s a wealth of intrigue surrounding the Shaw family enigma, and Tracker Season 2 is set to delve deep into it.

Tracker Season 2 premieres on Sunday, Oct. 13 on CBS.
