The X Factor star Amelia Lily is married: Singer exchanges vows with Scottish football legend’s son Eddie McQueen in intimate winter ceremony at Grade II listed venue

Amelia Lily, known for appearing on The X Factor and Geordie Shore, has married her partner, Eddie McQueen, in a beautiful church wedding.

The singer, originally discovered on Simon Cowell’s talent show in 2011, married Eddie McQueen on Saturday at Wynyard Hall, a historic country house in Stockton-on-Tees.

Lily, age 31, looked beautiful in a classic white lace wedding dress with a unique design as she left the event with her husband, who is the son of the late Scottish football star Gordon McQueen.

The singer and Eddie had a daughter, Pearl, in May after keeping the pregnancy private. They first met in 2023, and Pearl is their first child together.

Lily posted several photos and videos from her wedding and reception on Instagram this weekend, including a selfie with her new sister-in-law, Hayley McQueen.

After the ceremony, guests were served a delicious three-course meal. They started with smoked chicken and parmesan arancini, followed by a tender, slow-cooked steak with mashed potatoes and broccoli.

Guests enjoyed a performance by Lily, a finalist who placed third on The X Factor, accompanied by a live band.

Lily and Eddie both grew up in families with a strong connection to football. Lily’s father, John Barry Oliver, used to manage Billingham Town, a club in the Northern League division two.

Eddie’s father was a well-known footballer who played for St. Mirren, Leeds United, and Manchester United during the 1970s and 80s. He also represented Scotland 30 times.

He tragically died in 2023 aged 70, two years after being diagnosed with vascular dementia.

Confirming the birth of her daughter in May, Lily wrote: ‘The best secret we’ve ever kept…

Eddie and I are thrilled to introduce our daughter, Pearl McQueen! She was born on May 23rd, 2025, at 10:11 AM, and weighed a healthy 8 pounds and 12 ounces.

For nine months, we cherished our little world while waiting for you, Pearl. And now, you’re finally here!

Lily had to cancel her appearance at the Sunderland Food and Drink Festival in 2024 because she was unexpectedly hospitalized.

She announced on Instagram that she was very sick and wouldn’t be able to make it to the festival.

Lily, who has diabetes, posted a photo from the hospital showing her receiving fluids intravenously. She said she was very disappointed to have to cancel her upcoming concert in Sunderland.

Hi everyone, I’ve had a really difficult week being very sick, and I honestly feel worse than I ever have before.

I’m in the hospital being treated for an infection, and unfortunately, that means I won’t be able to perform at the @sunderlandfooddrinkfest tomorrow evening. I apologize for any inconvenience.

I really enjoy performing, and I’m so disappointed I have to miss tomorrow’s event. However, I know I’m where I need to be right now.
