The Wrestling Code: major update shows wrestling gameplay

As a seasoned gamer with decades of wrestling game experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a mix of anticipation and trepidation as I watch The Wrestling Code‘s latest tech demo. The roster is impressive, boasting some of the greatest names in the sport’s history, from legends like Kurt Angle to modern icons such as RVD. The graphics look next-gen, which is a must for any game on the PS5 and Xbox X/S.

Virtual Basement has found it challenging to reveal sneak peeks of The Wrestling Code, as the eager Twitter community is growing increasingly restless. Given the anticipation surrounding this project, which has been in development for three years and features over 100 wrestlers including Kurt Angle and RVD, an array of wrestling match types, and cutting-edge graphics designed for the PS5 and Xbox X/S, it’s understandable that fans are growing impatient. The ambition behind The Wrestling Code surpasses any previous wrestling game, which means Virtual Basement must dedicate time to ensure every detail is perfect.

In simpler terms, the game developer, Virtual Basement, released Tech Demo 7 featuring Chris Danger as a playable character, a fresh arena, and improved wrestling moves. This is a significant milestone in their development process.

In the video, Chris Denker strides into an enormous arena filled with excited spectators. As he advances towards the ring, his theme song echoes and a large screen displays images (Titantron). He casts glances at the audience, displaying expressive facial expressions and dynamic body language.

In the ensuing sequence, Chris Danger showcases wrestling techniques against various adversaries. He delivers a falling boot drop to Ken Shamrock. Matt Cardona experiences Shawn Michaels’ Sweet Chin Music. Diamond Dallas Page is subjected to a super kick while clutching a chair. Kurt Angle endures a Falcon Arrow. Rob Van Dam encounters the Canadian Destroyer from the top rope. Both Ultimo Dragon and Fallah Bahh receive falling boot drops.
