The Wire’s Dominic West and Clarke Peters reunite for new TV project

Dominic West and Clarke Peters, known for their roles in The Wire, are teaming up again for a new documentary called Beyond The Silk Road. They’ll be traveling on horseback through Kyrgyzstan, experiencing the country’s beautiful scenery and unique culture.

Dominic West and Clarke Peters first became friends in 2002 while working together on the HBO crime drama where they played detectives Jimmy McNulty and Lester Freamon. As reported by Deadline, they discovered a shared passion for horses and spending time outdoors, and frequently enjoyed horseback riding together.

The new documentary follows the duo as they travel along the historic Silk Road through Asia. Along the way, they’ll immerse themselves in the culture of rural Kyrgyzstan, staying in traditional yurts and participating in ancient customs.

West and Clarke will explore local communities with the help of experienced tour guide Alexandra Tolstoy. The journey, directed by Sean McDonnell, will capture their incredible adventure as they reconnect and experience new things.

The new documentary, Beyond The Silk Road, will debut later this month at the London TV Screenings. It’s planned as a two-part series, but the exact broadcast date hasn’t been revealed yet.

West shared in a statement that he felt honored to experience a glimpse into the lives of ancient Silk Road traders and to explore the outdoors with his longtime friend, Clarke.

Climbing the steep mountain paths on horseback was definitely scary at times, especially since I’m not a very confident rider. However, our incredible guide, Alexandra, made it an unforgettable adventure.

Peters explained that when his friend Dominic invited him on a horseback riding trip, he expected it to be enjoyable, but the experience turned out to be even more wonderful than he anticipated.

The actor, also known for his roles in John Wick and Da 5 Bloods, shared that experiencing the stunning scenery and connecting with the Kyrgyz people and their traditions was a powerful reminder of life’s true meaning.
