Natasha Rothwell, a key cast member from The White Lotus, expressed her surprise following the termination of her Hulu show titled How to Die Alone.
In the creation of Rothwell, the captivating series titled “How to Die Alone” unfolds. It centers around a JFK Airport worker who’s never known love and lost touch with dreams, but an unexpected near-death experience propels her on a transformative journey where she learns to break free from her comfort zone and embrace life with unwavering determination.
In September 2024, the comedy show made its premiere on Hulu to widespread praise from critics, receiving a remarkable 91% ‘Fresh’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes and securing the Independent Spirit Award for Best Ensemble Cast in a freshly written scripted series.
Despite the show’s significant acclaim, it’s unfortunate to report that “How to Die Alone” will not continue for another season, as confirmed by Variety.

Expressing her feelings upon hearing the news, Rothwell stated in a release that she was taken aback, deeply saddened, and quite puzzled by Onyx Collective’s decision to discontinue a second season for their content brand, which focuses on projects originating from people of color and underrepresented communities.
She expressed that it’s hard to come to terms with this fact because the program has been an unquestionable triumph in terms of critical acclaim, creativity, and awards. After dedicating eight years of her life to making this show a reality, she’s learned one valuable lesson – perseverance.
Rothwell affirmed that she and her group have become dedicated to discovering a suitable new place for “How to Die Alone” as such narratives hold significance.

She added: “It’s crucial now more than ever for TV to boost underrepresented voices and make decisions about employment and casting that truly mirror the diverse makeup of our globe.
Representation goes beyond mere presence; it’s about preserving our narratives, our importance, and our impact in history… We are surging forward. And we have more to achieve.
How to Die Alone is streaming now on Disney+.
