The White Lotus season 3 star Patrick Schwarzenegger has defended the show’s new theme tune.
For the initial two seasons, the recurring theme involved hauntingly evocative vocal melodies accompanying instrumental arrangements that mirrored the settings – first in Hawaii, followed by Sicily.
In a new twist, the theme song for Season 3 adopts a distinctly different mood, eliminating its signature howling sounds, which has left some fans feeling disgruntled.
Arnold Schwarzenegger acknowledged that the soundtrack and opening sequence might differ significantly from what fans have grown accustomed to during the initial two seasons, but he expressed his fondness for both elements as reported by Radio Times.
He mentioned that one aspect of the earlier seasons he cherished deeply was its energetic and distinctive nature. However, the composer, Cristobal Tapia de Veer, aimed to break new ground and create something unique for this season. He described it as challenging, with a more ominous and profound feel.
Previously, Tapia de Veer revealed the inspiration behind Season 3’s theme. He aimed to capture the playful and quirky atmosphere similar to popular TikTok cat videos.
As for me, one of the most captivating tunes I’ve come across recently that sticks in my memory is the harmonious rendition by folks on TikTok, featuring a feline as their unique instrument.
A cat is present, and someone added a piano melody, followed by several girls harmonizing the piece. Now, multiple versions of the harmony are layered around the cat. It’s incredibly touching and incredibly spontaneous.
Meanwhile, Schwarzenegger defended himself against “frustrating” nepotism claims.
He pointed out, “Perhaps they’re not aware that I’ve spent a decade honing my craft in acting classes, performed in high school productions weekly, tirelessly developed my characters, and faced numerous audition rejections.
