The Wheel of Time star lands next movie role in The Mummy remake

The Wheel of Time star Laia Costa has landed her next movie role in The Mummy remake.

Director Lee Cronin of “Evil Dead Rise” is taking on a fresh take of Universal’s iconic horror creature for the silver screen, and according to The Hollywood Reporter, Costa has landed a significant part in this upcoming project.

In the upcoming production, she will be acting as one-half of a married pair, sharing the screen with Jack Reynor, who is known for his roles in Midsommar and Transformers: Age of Extinction.

On the other hand, Cronin hinted that the tone of this film is expected to be quite different from any Mummy movie you’ve seen before.

For studio New Line, along with Cronin’s production company Doppelgängers, and the fearsome pair of Atomic Monster and Blumhouse (known for the hit movie M3GAN) will collaborate on a new horror project they are reviving.

As a gaming enthusiast, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement knowing that the new version is aiming for a unique identity. And guess who’s expressed interest in rejoining the franchise? None other than Brendan Fraser, who graced our screens in three films from 1999 to 2008. I can only hope and dream that he’ll be back!

He mentioned that he isn’t sure about its practicality, but he’s willing to consider it if a good idea or approach is proposed.

In discussing the 2017 film starring Tom Cruise, he expressed a preference for it to be more of an exhilarating “thrill ride” instead of just a “scary and terrifying” experience. So, it seems unlikely that it will turn out that way.
