The Weeknd Drops “Drive” Music Video Starring Jenna Ortega
Following the release of the second trailer for his upcoming movie, “Hurry Up Tomorrow”, The Weeknd has come back with a fresh new music video for his song “Drive”, which is found on his sixth album that shares its name with the film.
Under Trey Edward Shults’ direction (the same director of the movie), the music video features Jenna Ortega, who also plays a significant role in the film. In this production, Jenna is seen enjoying a ride on a Ferris wheel at a vibrant carnival with The Weeknd, followed by an extended drive through the day and night. A sudden transition leads to the climax of the video: a haunting scene depicting The Weeknd dozing off in a bathtub.
The album titled “Hurry Up Tomorrow” was released in January, and it immediately took the top spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart. On the other hand, the film entitled “Hurry Up Tomorrow” is scheduled to hit theatres on May 16.
The movie, featuring Barry Keoghan alongside it, narrates the story of a musician named Tesfaye who suffers from insomnia. This individual is drawn into a journey by a mysterious stranger (Ortega), which delves deep into the very heart of his life, as suggested in the official synopsis. The production of this film was handled by The Weeknd’s Manic Phase, Reza Fahimalong, the late Kevin Turen, and Harrison Kreiss. Additionally, Ortega, Shults, Michael Rapino, Ryan Kroft, Wassim “Sal” Slaiby, and Harrison Huffman served as executive producers.
