The wedding marsh: Lana Del Rey reportedly marries alligator tour guide Jeremy Dufrene
As a seasoned movie-goer with a penchant for unconventional love stories, I must admit that Lana Del Rey’s reported wedding to Jeremy Dufrene has certainly piqued my interest. The juxtaposition of a celebrated pop icon and a swamp tour guide seems almost too perfect for a Hollywood script.
As a cinema-loving soul, I can’t help but say an enthusiastic “Yes!” to the news that Lana Del Rey seems to have tied the knot with swamp tour guide, Jeremy Dufrene. The dress is just a lovely added detail in this beautiful story.
On Thursday, photographs emerged showing the artist famous for “Say Yes to Heaven” and “Summertime Sadness” wedding ceremony held at a local bayou in Des Allemands, Louisiana, where Dufrene works. The Daily Mail acquired and disseminated images and footage of the nuptials, as reported by them.
A spokesperson for singer Elizabeth Woolridge Grant, professionally known as Lana Del Rey, didn’t get back to us from The Times when we reached out to them on Friday.
The primary photos show Del Rey, aged 39, dressed in a long wedding dress and escorted by her father, Robert Grant. Del Rey’s sister Caroline Grant and brother Charlie Hill-Grant were present as well. Instead of his usual camouflage attire from his job as an alligator tour guide at Airboat Tours by Arthur, the groom opted for a traditional dark three-piece suit. Nearby, his boss’s renowned airboats were docked, and one was decorated with flowers for the occasion.
The event was held at the waterfront promenade, featuring multiple tables and spacious tents. It seemed like the proceedings occurred within a tent, according to the Daily Mail report.
On Monday, I learned that TMZ and People announced some exciting news – a Grammy-nominated artist and a tour guide had received a marriage license from the Lafourche Parish Clerk of Court in Louisiana. This means they have 30 days ahead to make their union official!
For quite some time, the duo has been acquainted, dating back to when Lana Del Rey shared information about one of her tours (Dufrene’s) in 2019.
In May, speculations about a romantic relationship between Del Rey and Dufrene emerged when Del Rey tagged him in an Instagram post and called him “my man.” They were seen holding hands at the Reading & Leeds Festival in August, and they attended the September 7th wedding of model Karen Elson and Lee Foster together in New York City. Notably, Taylor Swift and her partner Travis Kelce were also present at this wedding.
For Del Rey, it’s her debut marriage, while Dufrene is embarking on his second. He has three children and before switching careers, Dufrene was employed at a chemical plant. Now, he holds a captain’s license which allows him to run tours. As stated on his company’s website, he enjoys connecting with both wildlife and customers.
Lana Del Rey has expressed that she is drawn to confident, robust individuals. Previously, she has made her romantic connections with musicians Jack Donoghue and Clayton Johnson known. Additionally, she was in a relationship with retired police officer Sean “Sticks” Larkin. Notably, the singer put up a billboard in Larkin’s hometown to advertise her 2023 breakup album titled “Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd.
