In the debut fight for “The Walking Dead: Dead City,” the conflict between New Babylon and New York’s gangs was initiated, marking the onset of war. Amidst this chaos, Maggie and Negan find themselves caught in the middle, struggling to minimize casualties while staying alive themselves. Despite their past animosities, a shared objective might compel them to work together.
Long-time fans of “The Walking Dead” have long pondered if Season 2 could be the one where Negan and Maggie, despite their differences, come together for a better future, not just for themselves but also their kids. However, fundamentally, they’re ill-suited to each other. New Babylon chose Maggie, while the Dama picked Negan; Maggie symbolizes law and order, whereas Negan embodies disorder and upheaval. In Season 2, Episode 3, their allegiance to their core beliefs is challenged when their factions encounter an unusual conflict.
When Does The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2, Episode 3 Release?
“Why Did the Mainlanders Cross the River?” Premieres Sunday Night on AMC and AMC+
In simple terms, Episode 3 of Season 2 in the series “Dead City” is set to air this coming Sunday, May 18th, at 9 PM Eastern Time on AMC. Simultaneously, it will be available on AMC+’s streaming platform with no time difference. This differs from previous seasons of “Dead City” and other “Walking Dead” shows that first appeared on the streaming service as an added benefit for subscribers before their television premiere.
While it’s true that AMC+ might not offer immediate viewing for all content, it does come with its own perks. For instance, those who subscribe to any AMC+ plan can watch shows at their convenience after their release date, making it effortless to catch up on series whenever they want. On the other hand, viewers watching on AMC will need to wait until the channel rebroadcasts the episode, which would be either directly after its initial premiere or around 3 am ET on May 20 and May 24.

In the second episode of Season 2, titled “Another Shitty Lesson,” Maggie and Ginny return to Manhattan voluntarily, a contrast to their forced trip in Season 1. This time around, an unexpected summons from their former tormentor, the Big Apple, raises curiosity. Previous events suggested that he might have been the one alerting New Babylon’s inhabitants about their arrival. Now, we will explore the reasons behind his apparent kindness towards his former captor and potential betrayal of his mother.
Regarding Maggie, she’s leading the expedition following Governor Charlie Byrd’s demise during the conflict with the Burazi. Their initial destination is a neglected Central Park, where nature may well pose New Babylon’s most significant threat once more. As for Negan, he’s come to understand that actions have consequences. While he may still pretend to cooperate, the death of Victor won’t be forgotten in Season 2, Episode 3.
New episodes of The Walking Dead: Dead City premiere every Sunday at 9 PM ET on AMC and AMC+.
