The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon creator confirms season 3 episode count

As a die-hard fan of The Walking Dead universe, I’ve been through enough apocalypses to know that the end is never really the end. And with the renewal of not one but two spinoffs, it seems like the undead saga isn’t ready to lay its bones to rest just yet!

Despite The Walking Dead coming to an end, its franchise is thriving with a lineup of spinoffs. Two follow-up series, titled Dead City and Daryl Dixon, were quickly renewed for additional seasons, suggesting a promising future for the world within The Walking Dead.

As a long-time fan of “The Walking Dead,” I am beyond excited for the upcoming season 2 of “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon,” subtitled “The Book of Carol.” Having followed the series since its inception, I’ve grown to love the characters and their complex narratives. My enthusiasm for this spin-off has been heightened by Norman Reedus’s glowing reviews of the new season, which he claims features the best hour of “Walking Dead” ever.

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but feel the buzz surrounding season 3, even before season 2 has been released. The anticipation is understandable, as we’re about to delve deeper into Daryl and Carol’s journeys, exploring uncharted territories. And guess where they’ll be? The sun-kissed shores of Spain! Scott M. Gimple, the mastermind behind this franchise, is equally thrilled about the show’s Spanish sojourn. As he stated in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he can’t wait to see how the series unfolds in a new location.

There’s still so much ahead to unpack in France for the coming season two and a breathtaking finale. And now Spain! I already know that David Zabel’s storytelling is making the most of all that is so beautiful and unique to Spain. We start shooting there in just a few weeks… such excitement looking forward!

Details regarding the third season are somewhat sparse, but the showrunner David Zabel has confirmed that it will adhere to its pattern of six-episode seasons. When questioned by Collider about the number of episodes in season 2, he clarified: “Season 3 will consist of six episodes.”

Regarding the total number of seasons for Daryl Dixon, Zabel doesn’t have a definitive scheme. He mentioned that they are considering what might follow in season 4, but beyond that, there isn’t a fixed plan. He admitted that it’s uncertain if the series will span four seasons or more, such as six seasons.

The next chapter of The Walking Dead Universe premieres September 29 on AMC.
