The Voice winner Sundance Head shared eerie social media post HOURS before accidentally shooting himself
As a dedicated follower of country music and a fellow artist myself, I was deeply saddened to hear about Sundance Head‘s unfortunate accident on his Texas ranch. Having spent my fair share of time outdoors and hunting, I can only imagine the shock and disbelief that must have coursed through him when his own gun accidentally went off.
On a Texas ranch, Sundance Head posted something chilling on Facebook just hours before an accidental self-shooting incident occurred on Friday.
46-year-old The Voice victor was transported to a medical facility by helicopter following the arrival of paramedics. Upon reaching him, they successfully stabilized his condition, as reported by his representative Trey Newman to TMZ.
According to a recent disclosure by his representative, People magazine reports that Head suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the abdomen at approximately 4 p.m., during a solo hunting trip in the forest.
On Friday earlier today, Jason Head (also known as Sundance) posted a picture he took within a tent, captioning it, ‘Awoke this morning to the tranquil hush.’
In the expansive tent where I dwell temporarily, there’s a makeshift bed – a cot – on one side, adorned with a suitcase and strewn with clothing. A broom and assorted items are tucked away within as well.
He mentioned that he is free over the next few weekends for a spontaneous performance, whether it be at a private location or a venue.
Afterward, the artist asked his fans to send an email to “trey@leecrosbyagency.com”. He promised to deliver a guitar to them if possible. If there’s no response, he jokingly mentioned he might go hunting instead. That’s the plan, always on the grind.
One penned, ‘Praying for your Healing, Sundance you have had an amazing miracle happen to you, usually no one makes it out alive when shot in the stomach God is not through with you here.’
As a lifestyle advocate, I’m sending heartfelt wishes for a swift and smooth recovery. I’m deeply grateful that things are looking up, and my thoughts extend to your loved ones as well. Another supporter echoed this sentiment, expressing ‘Prayers for a speedy mend. May the Higher Power guide us all through this.’
A different social media user wrote, ‘There’s more for you ahead from God, and I can sense a fresh melody emerging. I’m praying for you and expressing gratitude to God for you.’
In a separate post on his Facebook page, his wife, Misty, provided another update about his health status as well.
She informed his followers that she had recently visited him at the hospital. Upon seeing him, she acknowledged his presence with her eyes and ears, and was delighted by the sound of his voice. Despite the challenging circumstances over the past few hours, he appeared to be in high spirits.
Currently, the children are with him. It seems our prayers were heard as there’s no internal harm caused by the bullet. I appreciate each and every one of your prayers.
Later, she elaborated extensively about the events that transpired, mentioning he had been hunting independently, with plans for companionship from friends during the night.
Misty stated that nobody fired a shot at him, and the bullet that struck his Jeep wasn’t from his hunting rifle. What actually happened was, while he was stepping out of the vehicle to retrieve his .22 caliber gun, it accidentally fell from its holster as he picked it up, striking the exterior of the Jeep and discharging in the process.
In a quick succession, Sundance stated the event unfolded swiftly, leaving him no time to spare, and he managed to catch a glimpse of the bullet being ejected. Meanwhile, Misty spoke up prior, mentioning an interesting detail: he chose not to dial 911.
Instantly upon taking that hit, I shot my hand into my pocket instinctively for my phone, but all I felt was warm, sticky liquid – it wasn’t my phone, only a pool of blood.
He quickly made his way along the driveway towards the main road, intending to hail a vehicle for assistance. After about ten cars had passed, one finally stopped and offered aid, dialing 911 for emergency services.
She shared with him, “This is what he has told me… Right now, he’s on a lot of medication. Incredibly fortunate and thankful that he’s still alive.
She expressed her thanks to the doctors and healthcare professionals who were part of the treatment process, and at the same time, she informed her followers that the bullet had avoided crucial body parts.
Misty explained that Sundance will not undergo surgery due to doctors ‘not removing the bullet.’
She mentioned that she believed the doctor must have provided an explanation, but her mind is currently hazy.
It’s advantageous that he is larger built, as the bullet has lodged itself in his body fat. I appreciate your prayers during this time…
