‘The Voice’ loses another contestant: Mor Ilderton, who is dropping a single Friday
As a long-time follower of “The Voice,” it seems that this season has taken a bit of a rollercoaster ride. The sudden departures of Mor Ilderton and Tanner Frick have left me feeling like I’m watching an episode of “Survivor” instead of a singing competition show. It’s almost as if the producers are playing a cruel game of musical chairs with the contestants!
Due to Mor Ilderton’s departure, Team Gwen Stefani now has one less member, making it short-staffed for this week on “The Voice.
During Monday’s edition of the reality TV show, it was announced that a 20-year-old singing sensation had left the program. This revelation occurred when coach Stefani presented the competitors for her team’s upcoming Knockout stage, who would be guided by mentor Sting.
She mentioned that they originally had three, one of whom was taken by her, but Ilderton had to return home, leaving only two participants, as she explained this to the artist known for “Fields of Gold.” The production did not clarify why Ilderton departed.
Ilderton did not reply immediately Wednesday to The Times’ request for comment.
Last week, when Tanner Frick withdrew from the contest, the details were just as unclear then as they are now. Earlier, Frick had been defeated during the Battles round but managed to be picked up by Michael Bublé, who had originally been on Reba McEntire’s team.
Prior to airing the episode signaling his departure, Frick shared a mysterious TikTok video featuring him in a recording studio. He also added song lyrics to the video’s caption, which read, “Nobody seems to want me anymore.
In the comments beneath the video, viewers conjectured that I might have exited “The Voice” due to securing a record deal, however, I remain silent about the reasons behind my departure.
On Friday, Ilderton is set to debut his first track, “Strangers.” He revealed this upcoming release on Instagram last week with a video clip featuring a snippet of the song. In the clip, Ilderton mentions, “You might recognize me from this season” of “The Voice.
“If not, I’m a folk artist out of [West Virginia],” he said, “Come along this journey with me.”
“The Voice” airs at 8 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays on NBC.
