Sara Haines, a host on The View, recently opened up about her intimate relationship with her husband, Max Shifrin. She discussed how their sex life has evolved after having three children and being married for more than a decade.
During Friday’s appearance on the ABC talk show, the 48-year-old host shared that her most memorable intimate location was ‘anywhere on vacation’ with her husband, Max, explaining they have young children.
Last April, Haines posted photos from her family’s trip to the Wymara Resort in Turks & Caicos, calling it her ‘happy place’.
The eight-time Daytime Emmy nominee went on to call her ‘mama hat’ the ‘least sexy thing I wear.’
Joy Behar jokingly suggested that if couples want some privacy with their partner, especially when they have children, they should simply close the door.
‘No, but they bang on the door. They bang on the door,’ Haines replied.
We’ve really tried all sorts of things to manage their behavior. Since they don’t get much screen time, we’ve even resorted to using treats and video games as rewards, but as soon as we leave them alone, they immediately want our attention.
The Iowa native, now living in New Jersey, explained that it’s incredibly frustrating when someone doesn’t understand something basic. She compared it to the unwelcome interruption of your parents calling just as you’re relaxing for the evening.
This Thursday, Haines and her husband, a 43-year-old attorney she met online, will celebrate their son Alec’s 10th birthday. They are also parents to eight-year-old Sandra and six-year-old Caleb.
The host of Weekend View recently shared a very personal story, recalling an incident from two years ago when she told about their oldest child walking in on a private moment with her partner.
‘One time Max and I were… cuddling,’ Haines said during a 2024 Hot Topics discussion.
‘And Alec answered and was like, “I’m sorry, I don’t understand the question” from the next room.’
When Joy Behar asked what prompted the boy’s reaction, the reporter responded in disbelief: “I didn’t even say anything! Why did he respond to me?”
‘It must have been like, “Are you enjoying this or not?”‘ the 83-year-old comedian wisecracked.
That same year, Haines admitted she doesn’t exactly remain amorous after making love with Shifrin.
During a recent conversation about recovery, Haines mentioned often thinking about unfinished tasks and future goals.
I paused and asked my partner if the plumber had called. I like to wait a few minutes after being intimate before checking things, so I glanced at my phone and decided to give it five minutes before following up.
With three active children, things are always chaotic. I focus on managing things as best I can, one at a time. He achieved his goal, and now I’ll pursue mine. Oh, and I need to remember to check if the plumber contacted us.
The woman, a former NBC Page and a descendant of President John Adams, began appearing on the political discussion show – first launched in 1997 by Barbara Walters – in 2016 as part of its twentieth season.
Whoopi Goldberg’s co-host, Sara Haines, initially left ‘The View’ in 2018. She came back as a full-time host in 2020 after her daytime talk show, ‘GMA3: Strahan, Sara & Keke,’ was cancelled.
