Popular Australian TV host Sarah Harris is making a surprising change and will be joining Ricki-Lee Coulter and Tim Blackwell on Nova’s breakfast radio show in Sydney.
Former ‘The Project’ host, 44, is joining Ricki-Lee and Tim on their updated radio show when it launches on Monday, February 9th.
Harris expressed her excitement about joining the program in a statement.
This feels incredibly surreal! There’s a special connection and honesty to radio that I really love. I’m thrilled to be starting my mornings with Ricki-Lee and Tim, it’s a dream come true.
She then revealed the surprising reason she was looking forward to working in radio.
Having worked in television news my entire career, I’m thrilled to be sharing the news on Nova 96.9 – and I’m especially happy to skip the long hours I used to spend on hair and makeup!
I’ve been a big fan of Ricki-Lee and Tim for a long time. Tim really knows his music and always introduces me to great new bands, and Ricki-Lee is a super relatable pop star – she seems like the kind of person anyone would love to be friends with.
Both of them are incredibly talented and have amazing chemistry. I’m thrilled to be working with them and joining a team of locals who are passionate about Sydney.
Harris has worked in media for nearly thirty years and has hosted multiple TV shows, such as The Project and Studio 10.
In January, Nova made a big change to its morning show lineup, replacing Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie with Ricki-Lee & Tim.
The pair previously co-hosted the station’s drive show alongside Joel Creasey.
Joel recently shared his future plans after announcing he won’t be co-hosting breakfast radio with Ricki-Lee and Tim.
Viewers of the show Drive were surprised when comedian Joel wasn’t mentioned in the announcement, even though he’s a key part of the team.
The host, age 35, announced on the Ricki-Lee, Tim & Joel show that he’s staying put – he’s just been given his own show across the country on Nova.
‘Very much inspired by the heavenly Chrissie Swan, I’m going solo,’ he announced on air.
‘What were they thinking! You’ll be able to hear The Joel Creasey Show nationally at lunchtimes.’
He joked that it seemed like their boss believed things were already falling apart, so he was determined to make them even worse, just to see what would happen.
Tim, 44, playfully told Joel, ‘You know, lunchtime for you is a lot like morning radio – you’re basically waking up and starting your day early, just like us!’
‘You’ve got your own version of breakfast!’ Ricki-Lee, 40, added.
‘I really do! That is my breakfast,’ Joel responded.
Nova announced that The Joel Creasey Show will premiere in April.
This announcement follows the news that Fitzy & Wippa, along with Kate Ritchie, are moving from their breakfast radio show to host a national drive-time program instead.
