Though Interview with the Vampire ended its third season on a major cliffhanger, the show’s creator, Rolin Jones, is ready to talk about what might happen next. However, the series hasn’t been officially renewed for a fourth season yet.
In a recent interview with IGN, actor Jones explained how the entire season of The Vampire Lestat was leading up to its shocking ending. The final episode, titled ‘The Failures,’ shows Lestat’s head contemplating his past, while his body looks on. “The idea is that seeing these two perspectives—Lestat’s head and body—together brings their individual stories of Lestat and Louis full circle,” Jones said.
Interview with the Vampire Showrunner Teases Season 4 & 5 Details
Though the show Interview with the Vampire recently finished its third season, it hasn’t been officially renewed yet. However, creator Rolin Jones already has plans for two additional seasons. He playfully commented on a marketing decision – a title change this year – saying he doesn’t have control over those things and jokingly referred to himself as ‘just a typing monkey’.
Jones explained that planning for possible fourth and fifth seasons began quite early in Season 2. He and executive producer Hannah Moscovitch spent time while working in Prague discussing ideas for future storylines and how they might be developed.
He also mentioned that Season 3 contains a lot of footage and content that didn’t make it into the final cut and should be looked at again. He clarified that it wasn’t limited to just the concert footage, stating, “There’s a lot of stuff we need to go back and review.”
The topic of Queen of the Damned also came up. Jones hinted that, like Queen of the Damned, the next installment of The Vampire Lestat‘s story will be told from multiple perspectives, adding, “So get ready!”
Jones also gave some hints about future storylines. He reassured viewers that any unresolved plot points from this season will be addressed, and while the final shot of Montreal might seem significant, it’s not the only important thing to look forward to.
It’s been a really difficult year with many challenging events. There are a few key players currently meeting, but they aren’t openly fighting. Everything should become clear if the show continues for another season.
The Vampire Lestat Star Talks Lestat & Louis’s Future
Sam Reid, the actor playing Lestat, recently discussed how the show’s third season concluded. He believes his character has developed a lasting affection for Louis, saying, “He understands Louis, so I think there is a love there that will endure.”
If the show is renewed for a fourth season, as planned by Jones, Reid thinks viewers can expect to see more development in Louis and Lestat’s relationship. He noted that while they’ll face challenges, the ups and downs of their romance will be central to the overall story.
The Vampire Lestat‘s Season 3 finale is now streaming on AMC+.
