Janet Caperna, a resident of The Valley, recently shared that she experienced a health issue that led to a rapid weight loss of 20 pounds in under two weeks.
The 36-year-old reality star told Daily Mail she had to go to the hospital twice after feeling sick to her stomach and vomiting uncontrollably. This happened after a holiday meal and a night out with loved ones.
At first, she believed she simply had a hangover or stomach bug, but it turned out she had a severe inflammation of both her stomach and colon.
She explained it typically started with something like food poisoning and then caused a lot of problems for her body.
She described feeling completely drained, as if something had squeezed all the energy out of her, and a burning sensation moving inside her body.

‘If I had a baby sip of water I would throw up. There was no relief.’
She said that the ordeal lasted for 12 days and that all up she lost close to 20lbs.
‘I don’t want to glamorize looking like this because I look genuinely ill.’
After having her son Cameron in 2023, she lost about 70 pounds over a year and a half by following a diet and doing Pilates.
She explained that she’d put in a lot of effort over the past year, consistently going to Pilates and cooking at home, all to lose weight in a healthy manner.
I didn’t use Ozempic to lose the weight after having a baby. I chose to work hard and get back in shape naturally. While I used to be strong and muscular and feel great, now I just feel very weak and frail.
On her podcast, This Side of the Hill, Caperna shared that she’s now prioritizing her recovery, focusing on regaining her health and weight.

She attributed her gastritis to eating too much over the holidays and promised to pay closer attention to her diet going forward.
‘I had such a merry, wonderful holiday season that I actually took a pause on taking care of myself,’ she said.
Caperna admitted to drinking more alcohol than normal and eating a lot of dairy, including a surprisingly large amount of cheese – enough to equal about a third of a whole wheel on Thanksgiving.
Honestly, my body just snapped at me. I was so used to pushing it, ignoring the signals, but turning 36 felt like a line. It was like it finally said, ‘Enough! I’m not a bottomless pit anymore!’ It was a rude awakening, but maybe a necessary one. I’d been taking it for granted, and it finally let me know it wasn’t okay.
She explained that the doctor told her her stomach and intestines were irritated because she’d eaten something that didn’t agree with her.

The reality star is prioritizing her well-being and getting ready for the next season of The Valley now that she’s recovered.
Filming has already wrapped on the new season, which will be the first without Jax Taylor.
Scheana Shay won’t be a regular cast member in the upcoming season, though she did show up as a guest on seasons one and two.
I’m so excited to share some news about Vanderpump Rules! Tom Schwartz and Lala Kent, two fan favorites, are officially joining the main cast as full-time members. I think this is a fantastic move for the show and I can’t wait to see what they bring to the table!
The series is expected to return to Bravo in the coming months.
