The ‘unsettling’ and gripping new crime drama you need on your radar, led by Handmaid’s Tale star

A captivating, tense, and slightly disquieting new crime drama series is about to debut; make sure not to miss it!

The series titled “Imperfect Women” scheduled for release on Apple TV+, is based upon Araminta Hall’s novel with the same title. It revolves around a pair of close friends as they work together to investigate and uncover the truth behind the murder of their mutual acquaintance.

Last year saw the introduction of a show that features Elisabeth Moss from “The Handmaid’s Tale” and Kerry Washington from “Scandal”. Both actresses are not only stars in this project, but they are also involved as executive producers through their production companies, Love & Squalor Pictures and Simpson Street.

The creator of Apple TV+’s show “Physical”, Annie Weisman, is responsible for the upcoming limited series. This series is characterized as an unusual psychological thriller that delves into a crime that disrupts the longstanding bond of three female friends, challenging their lives significantly.

From a captivated reader’s viewpoint: “Imperfect Women” delves into the intricate web of mystery, examining themes like guilt and retribution, love and deception, and the choices that reshape our lives forever. As the investigation unfolds, so does the revelation of how even the strongest bonds can transform and shift over time.

The 2020 book initially published, acclaimed as “immersive and disturbing” by Sarah Vaughan, the writer of “Anatomy of a Scandal,” centers around the homicide of Nancy Hennessy, a woman who appeared to possess it all – including riches and those who admired her deeply.

Delving into the mysterious circumstances surrounding our dear friend’s demise, Eleanor and I, her college companion, unearth disturbing truths that shatter our understanding of her, our bond, and perhaps even our own identities.

Moss has mentioned before that as soon as he got his hands on Araminta’s book, he found himself unable to stop reading. He describes the experience as incredibly captivating and instantly became enamored with it.

For a long time, I’ve held Kerry in high regard as an actor and producer, and I’ve eagerly sought opportunities to collaborate with her. When we submitted our material to Kerry and Pilar at Simpson Street, I was overjoyed that she appreciated it.

As a gamer, I’ve got to say, Elisabeth and Lindsey have an impeccable knack for spotting great stories. Their backing of Araminta’s captivating novel is a testament to that. In my opinion, there isn’t a more fitting individual to breathe life into this project on the screen than the exceptional Annie Weisman.
