The University of Oregon Reveals the Nike Air Foamposite Pro “Mummy Duck” PE

Summary

  • The University of Oregon is back with another special Nike sneaker
  • A “Mummy Duck” theme graces the Air Foamposite Pro and Vaporposite cleat
  • The Ducks football team will play in the cleats today against the Penn State Nittany Lions, with neither shoe likely to ever be made available to the public

The close relationship between the University of Oregon and Nike has led to many unique sneaker designs, including both shoes sold to the public and special editions for Oregon athletes. The latest addition is a “Mummy Duck” themed collection. Nike has created a special Vaporposite cleat for players to wear during today’s highly anticipated football game against Penn State, and also an Air Foamposite Pro with the same design.

The Nike Air Foamposite Pro “Mummy Duck” PE has a unique design inspired by mummies. The shoe’s upper is covered in soft brown shades that glow in the dark, along with the laces and outsole. A special “Mummy Duck” graphic appears on the heel, and the large Swoosh logos on the side are metallic green, representing the Oregon Ducks. Matching Vaporposite cleats share this style, with the “Mummy Duck” graphic visible near the collar.

These shoes won’t be sold in stores; they’re specifically made for athletes. You can see one of the designs – the Vaporposite cleat – in action today when the Oregon Ducks play against Penn State at Beaver Stadium. The Ducks are currently ranked sixth, and they’re hoping to defeat the third-ranked Nittany Lions.
