It was the statement that triggered fan pandemonium and production panic.
Just three months after leaving her difficult marriage, Amanda Batula, known from Bravo TV, shared that she’s now in a new relationship.
Her new partner?
Her best friend’s ex, husband’s ‘bro’ and fellow Summer House castmate, West Wilson.
Their ‘connection’, as she put it, has sent shockwaves through the realms of reality TV.
And now, the Daily Mail can reveal the behind-the-scenes fallout is even worse than imagined.
This scandal, nicknamed ‘Scamanda’, shares many similarities with the hugely popular ‘Vanderpump Rules’ drama that captivated online audiences, except it doesn’t involve infidelity.
A source connected to the show told the Daily Mail that this unexpected situation feels like a repeat of the ‘Scandoval’ from Vanderpump Rules – the affair between Tom Sandoval and Raquel Leviss that shocked everyone when Ariana Madix found out. Nobody predicted this would happen.
‘Amanda had the chance to have it all, much like Ariana Madix.
Initially, Kyle was being portrayed as the bad guy in the breakup, but now the situation has completely flipped, and he’s seen in a more favorable light.
‘This was a shock for nearly everyone.’
Indeed, Madix rode the wave of betrayal to a very lucrative shore.
Following a very public and difficult breakup, she quickly found success with several high-profile opportunities: she competed on Dancing With the Stars, landed numerous sponsorships on social media, and became the host of Love Island USA.
For years on the show, Batula has expressed unhappiness with her job. When her marriage ended, she had an opportunity to profit from the publicity.
Almost immediately after her relationship with West became public, the clothing brand Flower by Edie Parker ended their business partnership with her.
Batula and Wilson tried to address the online rumors quickly, releasing a joint statement on Instagram Tuesday saying they wanted to offer some explanation since people were already talking about it.
We never meant to keep anything secret. With the complex emotions and public attention from being on a reality show, we just needed some time to sort things out privately before talking about it.
We’ve been friends for a long time, supporting each other through everything, so this recent development came as a complete surprise to both of us.
We were already close friends, so it was really important to handle things carefully as our relationship developed.
‘As our feelings evolved, we wanted to take time to understand exactly what we were feeling.
We understand this situation has affected others, and we sincerely regret if our actions caused any pain or seemed thoughtless.
It concluded: ‘We truly appreciate the understanding and respect as we navigate this.’
Not everyone is buying that explanation.
‘They were hiding it,’ the second source insisted to Daily Mail.
Eagle-eyed fans have been slowly piecing the romance together for weeks.
Okay, so I’ve been obsessed with trying to figure out if Batula and Wilson are a thing, and the evidence is piling up! I mean, I found this photo from March 2026 of Batula rocking one of Wilson’s hoodies – seriously, a hoodie! – and then I’ve spent hours rewatching this season of Summer House, zooming in on every little look and playful comment. They definitely have a connection, I just know it!
They are resoundingly shocked that Batula would go for her best friend’s former squeeze.
But other insiders tell us the situation may not be as ‘unexpected’ as Batula claims.
Okay, so I’ve heard things… really awful things, honestly. Apparently, back in high school, Amanda had this habit of going after other people’s boyfriends. Like, someone close to Justin – a friend, I guess – told me she was notorious for it. It’s just… shocking, and explains so much, you know?
It happened a long time ago, but knowing she’s done something similar before doesn’t make this situation entirely surprising for those who remember her then. She has a history of this.
Meanwhile, a fourth source close to the show say the fallout within the cast has been immediate.
The announcement from West and Amanda came as a complete surprise to most of the cast. While some suspected a connection between them, nobody realized how serious it was.
Ciara is still reeling from what happened and is understandably struggling to come to terms with it.
According to a source familiar with the situation, they believe Miller likely knew the statement was coming, but they couldn’t confirm it with absolute certainty.
Cooke, for his part, is said to be reeling.
A fifth source shared with Daily Mail that he felt deeply betrayed, not just by his soon-to-be ex-wife, but also because he considered Wilson a close friend.
He’s currently relying on his close circle for support and doesn’t intend to make any public statements about it right now.
Someone recently informed Cooke – likely within the last day or two – but it’s unknown who told him. It’s also unclear if he’s spoken to Batula or Wilson about it.
According to a sixth source who spoke with Daily Mail, Amanda and Kyle actually separated several months before making their announcement, meaning Kyle isn’t as upset about it as many believe.
TMZ reports that Cooke had asked both Batula and Wilson about the rumors, but they told him they weren’t true.
The situation escalated when Lindsay Hubbard, a fellow cast member, shared a screenshot on her Instagram Story. The image was a disgusted facial expression from an older episode, seemingly reacting to the current drama.
Batula and Miller were scheduled to host an Amazon Live event together on March 5th, but they ended up appearing on their own, which fueled speculation about a disagreement between them.
The situation feels especially intense considering Wilson and Miller’s difficult and public split, which was shown on TV and clearly upset Miller during the Season 8 reunion show.
Viewers have been rewatching recent episodes and have noticed a playful connection between Batula and Wilson – things like extended physical contact and private conversations – leading them to wonder when their relationship started.
Someone on social media said they saw the two of them together at a bar shortly after the Super Bowl.
As a lifestyle observer, I can tell you the buzz around this relationship wasn’t exactly a surprise. Apparently, everyone connected to these two already knew! Dave Portnoy from Barstool Sports even said it had been an open secret for months – it was only a matter of time before it became public, honestly.
‘Yawn. Chickenfry told me this at the SuperBowl. Old news,’ he tweeted.
As a longtime Bravo viewer, I’m hearing from someone who’s worked behind the scenes that the network is actually counting on the drama continuing – they’re definitely not worried about a lack of it!
They expect filming to resume shortly, although no official announcement has been made yet.
Daily Mail has reached out to representatives for Batula, West, Cooke and Miller for comment.
