The truth about Brooklyn Beckham and his grandparents: He claims he has ‘a lot of love’ for them but he has a funny way of showing it, sources tell KATIE HIND, who reveals how he has cut them out of his life too

Growing up, I always knew how incredibly close Brooklyn Beckham was to his grandmothers. Seriously, it was amazing! He spent just as much time with Jackie Adams and Sandra Beckham as he did with David and Victoria. They were a huge part of his childhood, and it was so sweet to see how much they all loved each other.

David and Victoria were just starting their careers and in their early twenties when their first child was born. They were delighted to have the support of two loving grandmothers who helped them balance work and raising their family.

I remember when Victoria had Romeo in 2002, it was such a happy time! But honestly, Victoria’s mum, Jackie, was so involved with Brooklyn, she practically moved in to help. They were all just one big, close family unit back then.

It’s not surprising, then, that Brooklyn is now publicly emphasizing his continued strong relationship with all four of his grandparents – Jackie and Tony Adams, and Sandra and Ted Beckham – especially after he recently blocked David and Victoria on Instagram.

He wanted to disprove rumors that he had completely cut off contact with his parents and grandparents, so he told a newspaper he still loves them very much.

A close friend of the 26-year-old chef said that while he’s no longer close with his parents, he still has a strong and loving relationship with his grandparents. Their bond remains very special.

Instead of calming things down, his denials have actually left some people confused and puzzled.

Jackie, 74, and Sandra, 77, weren’t informed about Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz’s decision to renew their wedding vows last August. This came just three years after their initial £3 million wedding at Nicola’s father’s £76 million Florida estate in May 2022.

No one in Brooklyn’s family knew about the couple’s second wedding, and they didn’t receive invitations. The event was held at the Peltzes’ large estate in Westchester, near New York City.

Nine days after the party, Nicola shared 48 photos online. Notably, none of the pictures included any of Brooklyn’s friends from before he started dating Nicola in 2019.

To make the situation even worse, a photo they shared online revealed that Nicola’s father, Nelson, was the one who performed the wedding ceremony.

A source close to the family says Brooklyn and Nicola first found out about their grandparents seeing photos of their vow renewal online – the couple had shared the pictures themselves.

When he was young, his parents worked, so he was primarily raised by his grandparents, Jackie and Sandra. He loves them very much, but he kept this particular thing to himself.

Just picture an elderly grandmother longing for her grandson, and then seeing all of that unfolding online. It must have been incredibly painful for her and her family.

According to sources close to David and Victoria Beckham, they’ve come to terms with their oldest son, Brooklyn, distancing himself from the family as he and his wife, Nicola, 30, establish their lives in Los Angeles.

They’re worried about their parents, as everyone gets older. One friend shared, ‘It’s hard knowing they won’t stay young forever, and you never know when you’ll get to see family again, especially their oldest grandchild.’

In addition to not attending the vow renewal, Jackie and Tony Adams, and Sandra and Ted Beckham also didn’t see Brooklyn last spring. This was after Brooklyn skipped his father David’s 50th birthday party, which included a dinner at Core in Notting Hill and a larger family celebration at the Beckhams’ country home in the Cotswolds.

Adding to the family tension, Brooklyn and Nicola came back to London for a Moncler photoshoot a few weeks later without letting anyone know, including Brooklyn’s younger sister, Harper, who he used to be very close to.

Notably, Brooklyn wasn’t present when David finally received his knighthood at Windsor Castle in November. He didn’t offer any congratulations to his father, either publicly on social media or in private.

It’s unclear how often the chef, who used to be a photographer, speaks to his parents, but he didn’t visit them in the UK during Christmas.

Even though Jackie Beckham hung a Christmas stocking for him alongside those for her eleven other grandchildren at her home in Hertfordshire, friends say Brooklyn no longer seems interested in the traditionally lively Beckham family Christmas celebrations he once enjoyed.

Around the beginning of December, Sandra tried to start a conversation with Brooklyn after he shared a cheerful video online. The video showed him wrapping a bottle of his hot sauce, called Cloud 23 – a name inspired by his father’s jersey number from his time playing soccer for Real Madrid and the LA Galaxy.

She subtly suggested she’d like to spend Christmas with her grandson, hoping to resolve their recent issues, by replying to a post with ‘That for me?’ and adding several sweet emojis.

However, her message didn’t resonate much in the United States. Nicola has emphasized that she’s currently prioritizing her family, as evidenced by her focus on New Year’s Eve celebrations and a recent 31st birthday party.

Nicola shared heartwarming photos of herself celebrating her birthday. She was seen hugging her father, Nelson, while wearing a pink top and jeans. The pictures also showed festive pink and white balloons and Nicola holding hands with Brooklyn as she cut her birthday cake.

She shared photos from her New Year’s Eve celebration with a heartfelt message, expressing gratitude for spending the holiday with her loved ones. She tagged Brooklyn, her brothers Bradley and Zach, and Zach’s girlfriend, Aislinn Carne, in the post.

The group photo also included some of her friends: Kenya Jones, Quincy Jones’ daughter, photographer Alison Albright from Canada, and hairstylist Lovette Candice.

Brooklyn, meanwhile, is no longer in contact with his brothers Romeo or Cruz.
