As a big Netflix fan, I was a little bummed to hear they’re taking away some great movies in the UK and Ireland next month – October, specifically. It includes a few films that would have been perfect for a Halloween movie night, several movies from a really popular adventure series, and even some big award winners! So, I wanted to share what we should definitely watch before they’re gone. Here’s what you don’t want to miss, because I know I don’t! You can find a list of titles here.
Starting immediately, Harry Styles and Florence Pugh’s controversial sci-fi thriller Don’t Worry Darling will no longer be available, being removed on October 1st. Peter Jackson’s grand version of King Kong and Fast X, the newest movie in Vin Diesel’s over-the-top action series, will be gone on October 2nd and October 3rd, respectively.
The classic ’90s teen comedy Clueless will no longer be available starting October 4th. And if you’re feeling nostalgic and want to revisit the Sex and the City films, you have until October 6th to watch them before they’re gone – a chance to remember the series before And Just Like That… began.
What to Read Next
Fast forward two weeks, and Van Helsing will no longer be available on Netflix, leaving the platform on October 20th. This 2004 film features Hugh Jackman as a tough, unconventional hero battling classic monsters – including Mr. Hyde, werewolves, Dracula, his brides, and a whole army of vampires.
After one day, Steven Spielberg’s acclaimed film Schindler’s List, which won the Best Picture Oscar, is being taken down. The horror movie Insidious: The Red Door is also being removed.
Ugh, I’m so bummed! A bunch of really great movies are leaving Netflix on October 24th. I’m going to miss being able to easily watch Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City, especially with such a fantastic cast. And Cast Away with Tom Hanks – that’s a classic, and he *deserved* that Oscar! I also can’t believe The Truman Show, starring Jim Carrey, is going – it was such a brilliant and original film. Oh, and all the original Indiana Jones movies – Raiders of the Lost Ark, Temple of Doom, and The Last Crusade – are disappearing too! I need to make time to re-watch them all before they’re gone!
Okay, so last but not least in this update, Saw X is leaving the platform on October 28th – super close to Halloween! It’s kinda weird timing, especially since a bunch of other Saw movies were already taken down at the end of September.
Naturally, Netflix constantly updates its selection of films, and right now, you can once again stream Quentin Tarantino’s famous Kill Bill films-both parts-with your existing subscription.
The new edition of Living Legends is here! Buy Gaga in newsagents or online, priced at just £8.99.
