For the first time ever at Paris Fashion Week, Brazilian brand P. Andrade presented its Spring/Summer 2026 collection under the leadership of designers Pedro Andrade and Paula Kim. The collection, called “The Tree as Your Backbone,” delved into ideas about renewal, heritage, and modernity. Artistic collaborations with Samuel de Sabóia, a native of Pernambuco, added a spiritual and environmental dimension to the collection’s storyline.

The collection takes inspiration from the spiritual energy of Kundalini and the enchanting animation film “Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind” by Studio Ghibli. It symbolically links nature, technology, and spirituality in a unique way. The organic shapes and dynamic textiles echo the cycles of life, while advanced digital patterns woven into smart materials provide a futuristic translucent effect. In partnership with textile engineer Micheline Maia Teixeira from R-INOVE, these binary codes, glowing under UV light and scannable via QR, contain blockchain information about the production process emphasizing the brand’s steadfast dedication to sustainability and traceability.

The classic Brazilian lace was given a modern twist, representing cultural heritage, and was incorporated into functional designs that mirrored the expansion patterns of mushrooms and microbes. In collaboration with scientist Ailton Pereira from AIPER, the brand also adopted eco-friendly dyeing methods using local bacteria, swapping harmful pigments for harmless, sustainable processes. Additionally, partnerships were formed with brands like Oakley, Levi’s, and PUMA, showcasing the brand’s knack for blending independent artistry with industry-wide knowledge on a global scale.
