On a recent Instagram update, Paul Gorton from The Traitors shared that his newborn son, Cooper, has been taken to the hospital due to bronchitis.
The well-known BBC personality, who became a father to his newborn baby alongside girlfriend Kate Waldron in November, shared a concerning health update, stating that his son requires oxygen support and intravenous fluids.
Lung airways inflammation, commonly due to an infection, is known as bronchitis. Typically, it resolves on its own within approximately 3 weeks, even without specific treatment.
“I appreciate all your messages, they truly matter. My dog Cooper is dealing with bronchitis at the moment, he’s undergoing treatment with intravenous fluids and oxygen to ensure he gets the best possible care.
‘Hoping he turns a corner and improves as soon as possible.’
After Paul recently posted an update about his newborn, he reshared Kate’s message that contained additional details regarding the baby’s health status.
She wrote: ‘Thank you all so much for all your kind messages about Cooper.
‘Unfortunately yesterday he got worse and needed to be put on oxygen and an IV drip for fluids.
Due to the fact that swallowing milk was causing breathing difficulties for my child, I had to cease breastfeeding him. For more than twelve hours now, he’s been on nothing by mouth. They plan to start tube feeding him gradually, using the milk I’ve pumped.
For a newborn who wasn’t receiving milk, he was extremely restless. We eventually managed to put him to sleep by giving him a pacifier, and ever since then, he’s been sleeping like a log!
It’s incredibly unexpected and heartrending to witness such a tender, young infant. The pain intensifies as I can’t provide nourishment or comfort to my own little one, making the situation simply unbearable.
