The Tourist star in new look at Keeley Hawes-led crime thriller confirmed for July release

Actress Shalom Brune-Franklin, who played The Tourist’s lead role, will appear in a fresh take on the upcoming crime thriller titled The Assassin, featuring Keeley Hawes as the main star.

In this Amazon Prime Video series, Hawes plays the role of Julie, a former hitman residing in Greece who has retired. When she reconnects with her long-lost son Edward (Freddie Highmore), he asks about his father, triggering events that bring Julie’s turbulent history to light once more.

Prior to its launch next month, Amazon’s Prime Video has revealed additional photos from the upcoming six-part series. Notably, Brune-Franklin, known for her role in the initial season of “The Tourist,” can be seen adorning a graceful blue gown in these images.

The previously mentioned threesome will be joined in the production by Gina Gershon, Jack Davenport, Alan Dale, and David Dencik. However, their specific roles have not yet been confirmed. This upcoming series, titled “The Assassin,” is penned by Harry and Jack Williams, who are renowned for creating “The Missing” and “Baptiste.

In a serene, secluded Greek island setting, former hitman Julie and her long-separated child Edward find themselves compelled to collaborate as they engage in a struggle for their lives. The plot hints at Julie’s potentially harmful past.

Hawes expressed his gratitude for spending the summer in Athens, working alongside the exceptional Freddie Highmore and an incredibly talented cast and crew. Furthermore, he praised the scripts as being simply outstanding.

The Assassin will premiere on Prime Video in July.
