Hannah Dodd, who plays Francesca in Bridgerton, has revealed her character experienced a lot of emotional turmoil in the fourth season. The unexpected arrival of her husband’s cousin, Michaela Stirling, complicated things significantly.
Dodd explained to Digital Spy that Michaela really challenges Francesca. “Francesca has always lived by a strict set of rules, and Michaela completely disregards them, which I think is unsettling for Francesca.”
Honestly, I think part of the reaction is just people being jealous. They see me living this life, doing what I love, and they wonder why they don’t get to do the same.

Masali Baduza plays Michaela, who first appeared in the third season’s finale. She returns in the mid-season finale of season four and, according to Dodd, will cause problems for Francesca and her husband.
Dodd believes that being around this woman brings out a different side of John. She feels this woman is very disruptive and seems to make Francesca feel insecure.
Francesca and John have made a lot of progress in their relationship, and she was finally feeling optimistic about where things were going. Unfortunately, a new crisis has emerged that she fears will ruin everything they’ve built.

During the live stream for the season four premiere of Bridgerton, actress Baduza discussed the dynamic between her characters, John and Michaela. She explained to Tudum that Michaela’s outgoing personality brings out John’s fun side – a quality she’s recognized in him since childhood.
Baduza shared that working with Victor Alli, who plays John, was a great experience. She explained that he’s hilarious when they’re not filming, always keeping the mood light and fun.
He discovered chai lattes one day and instantly loved them, drinking five in a row! He was full of energy after that.

Of Dodd, she said: “Hannah’s [been] the most supportive person during this whole experience.
Honestly, she’s sent me a ton of really sweet letters, just making me feel welcome in this whole gaming community. It’s awesome knowing these are just regular people being cool and friendly.
You can now watch the first part of Bridgerton season 3 on Netflix. The second part will be available starting February 26th. All three seasons, plus the series Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, are currently available for streaming.
