The Tick ended too soon for these 5 characters to make their live action debuts

As a longtime comic book enthusiast and binge-watcher of superhero shows, I must say that The Tick on Amazon Prime Video was nothing short of extraordinary. It was a brilliant blend of humor, action, and heart that left me yearning for more after its untimely end.

For two seasons spanning from 2016 to 2019, “The Tick” aired on Amazon Prime Video. This series was marked by humor, solid writing, and daring storylines. Its exceptional action sequences and authentic characters elevated it among the best – yet often overlooked – superhero shows streaming online.

The Tick is an iconic comic book figure, dating back to the ’80s, known for his side-splitting humor and action-packed adventures. Over the years, he has been accompanied by a stellar cast of characters, many of whom could have made fantastic additions to Season 3 of Amazon’s series.

The Chainsaw Vigilante

Ben Edlund is the creator behind The Tick comic book series, which ran for 12 issues. In these comics, The Tick encountered The Chainsaw Vigilante, a vigilante who aims to bring down superheroes. He holds the belief that superheroes often lead to innocent people getting injured, and thus he defeats and terrifies heroes in order to dissuade them from pursuing heroic deeds. However, unlike other heroes, The Tick is nearly indestructible and immune to the effects of chainsaws.

The Man Eating Cow

Collaboration with the Cattle Companion: From her debut, The Man-Eating Cow has been on The Tick’s side. While her method of taking down villains – eating them – might be unusual for a superhero, The Man-Eating Cow manages to pull it off effectively.

The Tick (the other one)

As a gaming enthusiast, let me share some trivia that might intrigue fellow fans. There are two characters who bear the name The Tick, yes, you got that right! The iconic big blue one we adore is just one of them, but there’s also Barry. Unlike our beloved superhero, Barry is a tech-centric hero with a unique backstory. After a run-in with another Tick, he lost the title and has been bitter ever since. Now, let me tell you something fascinating – Barry is an integral part of The Tick’s history, though his eccentricity makes him quite special in a different way.

Paul The Samurai

One standout tale featuring The Tick was undeniably when he confronted the formidable ninjas. During this saga, Arthur, who later became The Tick’s partner, made his debut. Additionally, Paul The Samurai entered the scene, vowing to eradicate wicked ninjas. In the course of their battle, Paul formed an alliance with the hero and eventually triumphed over the ninjas. Owing to financial constraints, Paul was unable to return to Japan and decided to stay in The City alongside The Tick instead.

Hand Grenade Man

Perhaps the most unusual superhero ever, Hand Grenade Man, lacks any special abilities or talents. His only weapon is a hand grenade, which grants him quite a bit of leeway once others are aware he possesses it.

The Tick is a fantastic superhero character, and his Prime Video show was an outstanding television series. Regrettably, there’s been no opportunity to witness these remarkable personalities further brought to life on screen.
