Fans of “The Thursday Murder Club” no longer have to be patient, as Netflix has officially announced the release date for the much-anticipated film.
2025 was expected to be the year we’d see the screen adaptation of Richard Osman’s top-selling crime novels. But even though production wrapped up in September 2024, fans have been eagerly anticipating an announcement about the release date.
The long-awaited release of “The Thursday Murder Club” has finally been announced! It’s set to premiere on Netflix this coming Thursday, 28th August, right on schedule.
As a die-hard gamer here, I was stoked when Osman mentioned that the movie we’ve been waiting for would hit the big screen too. However, the specific release date is still under wraps. Interestingly, when Netflix films make their way to theaters, like Joy did last year, it’s typically a week before its streaming premiere. So, fingers crossed we get that theater experience soon!
Meanwhile, as we anticipate the upcoming event, Netflix has unveiled initial snapshots of the much-awaited series “The Thursday Murder Club“. We’re steadily moving towards its August release date.
The latest pictures display the main characters, including Helen Mirren portraying ex-spy Elizabeth Best, Pierce Brosnan playing trade union leader Ron Ritchie, Sir Ben Kingsley as psychoanalyst Ibrahim Arif, and Celia Imrie in the role of nurse Joyce Meadowcraft.
These images mark the first official sneak peeks into the film, as we’ve spotted them before only in set pictures alongside Osman and director Chris Columbus.
The pictures offer us a sneak peek at Naomi Ackie playing the role of police officer Donna, as well as Henry Lloyd-Hughes portraying beloved character Bogdan.
Just last week, I learned that the talented David Tennant will be taking on the role of the mysterious businessman, Ian Ventham, in our upcoming game.
Unfortunately, there isn’t an officially revealed image of him available at this time, but we hope to share one with you shortly.
The Thursday Murder Club is released on Netflix on 28 August.
