The Summer I Turned Pretty spoilers follow.
The Summer I Turned Pretty has shocked fans with a “heartbreaking” update on the show’s future.
Back in August 2023, the third season of the Amazon Prime show got renewed. Since then, eager fans have been waiting for the upcoming episodes, set to release in July.
In a recent development, Amazon’s streaming platform, Prime Video, has officially announced that the series will conclude following the airing of its third season, which consists of 11 episodes.
The Summer I Turned Pretty is adapted from Jenny Han’s trilogy of the same name. While no specific reason has been given for the series finale, each season follows one book, implying that season three might serve as a fitting conclusion for the show.
Although the outcome may not have come as a surprise, fans were disheartened by the announcement and expressed their sorrow on social media platforms. One fan penned, “Heartbreaking news,” while another posted, “A bittersweet finale; fans will fondly remember the last summer.
One fan expressed their disappointment by saying, “That’s not what I was hoping for,” while another shared their feelings of unpreparedness with, “I’m not yet ready for the approaching end of summer.
In 2022, a new romantic series was introduced, centering around 16-year-old Isabel “Belly” Conklin. This young lady finds herself in a complex love situation involving her longtime buddies, the Fisher brothers.
The show is described as a multigenerational drama centered around a love triangle involving one young girl and two brothers, exploring the dynamic relationship between mothers and their offspring, and highlighting the resilience of powerful female friendships. It’s a tale of growing up, experiencing first love, heartbreak, and the enchantment of that unforgettable summer.
At the end of Season 2, character Belly (played by Lola Tung) opted for laid-back Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) instead of his moody sibling Conrad (Christopher Briney). The upcoming season promises to unfold the storylines from the last two books of the series.
You can currently stream all episodes from seasons 1 and 2 of “The Summer I Turned Pretty” on Amazon’s streaming platform, Prime Video.
