As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for the bizarre and intriguing, I can hardly contain my excitement for “The Substance” streaming release on October 31st! The tantalizing trailer has been haunting my dreams like a ghostly apparition, and the prospect of Demi Moore’s extraordinary performance in this horror-meets-drama masterpiece is enough to make any cinephile quiver with anticipation.

The Substance has confirmed a streaming release date – and fans won’t have long to wait.

Over the past month, the movie featuring Demi Moore’s body horror has been a hot topic of conversation among many, generating significant buzz since its theater release.

On October 31st, the streaming platform MUBI plans to debut its new movie across the UK, US, and other regions, perfect timing for a spooky Halloween viewing.

The film by Coralie Fargeat tells the tale of a once-popular figure (Moore), who, in search of rejuvenation, resorts to an illicit substance. This drug results in the emergence of a youthful duplicate (Margaret Qualley) within her life.

In her professional career, The Substance became the movie that achieved the highest Rotten Tomatoes score among all the films she released in theaters, marking a new record for Moore.

NPR’s assessment described the project as an impressive platform for both Qualley and Moore, with Moore seemingly embodying the tempestuous, spiraling character of Faye Dunaway from “Mommie Dearest” and the later phases of Bette Davis.

According to Rolling Stone, if Moore’s outstanding, career-best performance doesn’t spark a new era for Demi (similar to Victor Hugo’s character Dorian Gray), then there is no deity – this reinterpretation of The Picture of Dorian Gray is exceptionally brilliant in the most favorable sense.

“This isn’t typical feminist work; imagine Showgirls remade by David Cronenberg. Yet, enjoy the over-the-top elements and you’ll find yourself having a hilarious good time.

Earlier this year, the film received the Best Screenplay Award at the Cannes Film Festival after its initial screening.

Over the past year, MUBI has added several critically-acclaimed films to its platform. These include “La Chimera” starring Josh O’Connor, “Priscilla” featuring Cailee Spaeny, and “Strange Way of Life” with Pedro Pascal.

The Substance will be available to stream on MUBI from October 31.
