Taylor Swift and Blake Lively are reportedly no longer speaking after their friendship ended due to Blake’s legal battle with Justin Baldoni.
According to a source who spoke to Page Six on Thursday, Taylor Swift and Blake Lively haven’t been in touch. The source confirmed that reports of a quiet get-together between the two are false.
Rumors began circulating among fans that Blake Lively may have inspired, or been referenced in, Taylor Swift’s new song ‘Cancelled’ from her album, ‘The Life Of A Showgirl’.
In the song, the singer boasts about preferring to spend time with friends who are stylish and a little bit rebellious, singing, ‘I’m glad my friends cancelled, I love them dressed in Gucci and surrounded by drama.’
The song suggests their disagreement wasn’t a complete break, but their friendship appears to be permanently damaged after Lively involved her former friend in a legal dispute.
According to a Page Six source, the two former friends haven’t spoken in nearly a year, with their last conversation happening in the winter of 2024.
Since then, Swift has wrapped up the Eras Tour and gotten engaged.
A source familiar with the situation also verified the reports, stating that the two individuals haven’t communicated or met recently, but didn’t provide specific dates.
Blake Lively recently showed a possible willingness to mend her friendship with Taylor Swift by liking a post on Instagram celebrating the release of Swift’s new album.
This news follows reports that Lively has been moved by comments made by people connected to Taylor Swift.
TMZ reported earlier this week that the Gossip Girl actress was pleased when Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift’s fiancé, referred to her as a ‘friend’ during an episode of his ‘New Heights’ podcast. This particular episode, originally from March 2024, was unexpectedly made available to the public again on Tuesday.
I remember when Jason Kelce was talking about Blake Lively and her movie, *The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants*, with his brother – it was a while before all the drama with the *It Ends With Us* movie and the lawsuit started, and before Blake and Taylor seemed to have a falling out. It’s funny to think back on that now, knowing what happened later.
That is when the Kansas City Chiefs football star called Lively a ‘friend’ of theirs.

According to a source, the famous actress was surprised – especially considering her recent issues with Taylor Swift – but ultimately happy to hear the comments.
The Daily Mail contacted Lively’s spokesperson for a statement, but hasn’t received a response yet.
This happened after Lively reacted to one of Taylor Swift’s Instagram posts shortly before the release of her album, *The Life of a Showgirl*.
From what I’m hearing, Taylor Swift and Lively had some tension after Lively became involved in a legal dispute with her ‘It Ends With Us’ co-star, Justin Baldoni. It seems like that situation created a bit of a rift between them.
Old messages from Lively surfaced online where she jokingly called herself Khaleesi, a character from Game of Thrones, and playfully referred to Taylor Swift as one of her dragons.
Honestly, the way they wrote about Blake Lively and Taylor Swift, it felt like Blake was *calling the shots*! I always got the sense Taylor didn’t love that, even though she’s famously private and never let on publicly. It just felt…off, like Taylor wasn’t fully comfortable with the power dynamic. I’ve been following both of them for years, and I could just *feel* it!

Despite having the opportunity, Taylor Swift didn’t mention her current boyfriend’s ex, Lively, on her latest album. Instead, she seemed to reference Charli XCX and Travis Kelce’s previous partner.
Reports surfaced in September that Taylor Swift wasn’t willing to give a deposition for the legal case involving Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively, but she would comply if legally required.
The singer’s former close friend, Blake, has filed a lawsuit against her “It Ends With Us” co-star and director, Justin Baldoni, alleging harassment and claiming he fostered a negative and uncomfortable atmosphere during filming. Baldoni has refuted these accusations.
Following a statement from Baldoni’s lawyer that Taylor Swift had agreed to a deposition but couldn’t do so until October 20 due to prior commitments, Swift’s lawyer responded that she never agreed to testify and isn’t involved in the case.
