As a lifestyle expert with a rich background in entertainment and charity events, I must say that this year’s Children In Need was nothing short of exceptional. The energy, emotion, and unity radiating from the screen were palpable, and it served as a powerful reminder of why we continue to support such noble causes.

Children In Need made its grand return on Friday with a three-hour entertainment-packed show.

At the glamorous gathering, Ade Adepitan, Mel Giedroyc, Rochelle Humes, Vernon Kay, Chris Ramsey, and Lenny Rush took turns as hosts.

The event was rich with heartfelt instances, included performances by the Strictly pros, the Gladiators, and culminated in an exciting unveiling of the grand total that had been collected.

Fans were also treated to the return of the Brockman family in an Outnumbered sketch ahead of their December Christmas Special, while Gary Oldman shared a memorable CBeebies Bedtime Story.

At the end of the program, co-host Vernon Kay thanked viewers for their kindness and generosity, revealing that a remarkable sum of £39,210,850 had already been gathered.

A substantial portion, approximately £8.8 million, was raised during Paddy McGuinness’ challenging 300-mile bike ride from Wrexham to Glasgow on the radio.

On stage, the comedian found himself taken aback when the hosts disclosed the impressive amount he managed to gather.

Paddy stated, “Beneath my outer layers, it’s mostly held together by tape and safety pins. Yet, once I’m wearing it, I just carry on as usual.

He continued: ‘The actual joy of doing it, you can’t call it a challenge. Honestly it’s a privilege. The feeling of love, community, and people coming together, it’s the best feeling in the world and I’ll never forget it.’

As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but chuckle at my own predicament – I find myself contemplating investing in Kleenex tissues! After all, I’ve gone through more than a few boxes during this thrilling ride.

Simultaneously, Ncuti Gatwa, renowned for his role in Doctor Who, unveiled an exclusive sneak peek into the forthcoming Doctor Who Christmas Special, as well as a sketch featuring the talented Outnumbered cast.

The night also saw the premiere of a new music video for Girls Aloud’s version of I’ll Stand by You – where the lead vocal was sung entirely by the late Sarah Harding.

Sadly, Sarah lost her life in September 2021 at the young age of 39, following a valiant struggle against breast cancer.

The video represented Cheryl’s debut on television following the sad passing of her former boyfriend, Liam Payne, a month ago.

The band member Liam, known for being one of One Direction, and father to a 7-year-old boy named Bear, sadly died at the age of 31 following an accidental fall from a balcony of his hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The group found it difficult to suppress their emotions during the heartfelt tribute they paid to Sarah, as they hadn’t performed live since the devastating demise of their bandmate Liam.

Cheryl spoke about how much the song meant to them and their late friend.

In 2004, we felt incredibly privileged when we were asked to put out the official Children In Need version of I’ll Stand By You as a single, mentioned Nicola.

Nadine mentioned after following her, “We had a massive promotional tour for the song all across the United Kingdom, showcasing the fantastic work of Children In Need.

In our recent tour this year, when we reunited, we made it a point to dedicate the song “I’ll Stand By You” to Sarah at each performance, as shared by Nicola.

We dived into the archive of Girls Aloud and created a rendition where Sarah’s remarkable vocals take center stage, allowing us to harmonize with her.

At Graham Norton’s show, the stage was graced by JLS member Aston Merrygold, Nikita Kuzmin from Strictly Come Dancing, and Dame Jessica Ennis-Hill, who sat in the iconic red chair.

While BBC Gladiators stars joined hosts Ramsey, Rush, and Kay for a fun-filled dance class.

Starting from 1980, this event has amassed more than a billion pounds, channeling it towards assisting underprivileged youth and their families.

In 2016, it set a record with an incredible £60 million raised for charities across the nation.
