UKTV has shared a sneak peek at the second season of Bergerac. This new version of the popular 1980s detective show stars Damien Molony, known for his role in The Split, and is being billed as a suspenseful and complicated mystery.
This updated version of the classic ’80s show, originally starring John Nettles, follows detective Molony as he navigates personal challenges – dealing with the loss of his wife and his journey to sobriety.
Zoë Wanamaker, Robert Gilbert, Sasha Behar, and Chloé Sweetlove are returning as their characters from the first season. Joining them this season are new cast members Adrian Edmondson, Lesley Sharp, Camilla Beeput, Turlough Convery, and Charles Dale.

The recently published photos show the actors filming in New Jersey and give fans their first look at the new cast dressed as their characters.
The photos include Sharp, who will portray Monica, and Convery, playing Michael. Additionally featured is Edmondson as Nigel, a new love interest for Wanamaker’s character.

In season two, Jim Bergerac begins rebuilding his life, and his mother-in-law, Charlie Hungerford, starts a new romantic relationship.
In the second season, Jim starts casually dating Nicola Beeput, a woman visiting Jersey, and they quickly connect.
Just as Jim’s relationship begins to develop, he’s immediately thrown into a new, important case, according to the story summary.

A wedding celebration turns deadly when the groom is found murdered in his hotel room, immediately making everyone at the wedding a suspect.
If Jim wants to catch the killer, he needs to figure out what the victim meant by their final, puzzling words. As he digs into the past, he uncovers more and more hidden secrets, making this his most complex case so far.

Earlier this year, Helen Perry, Head of Drama at UKTV, praised lead writer Toby Whithouse, saying he did a “remarkable job” on the second season.
Since the first series was a hit with viewers, we’re excited to bring them back to the stunning island of Jersey for a new investigation with even more unexpected turns.
Production has finished on the second season of Bergerac, and it will air on U and U&DRAMA in 2026.

Bergerac is available to stream for free on U.
