The Sopranos star Jamie-Lynn Sigler, 43, details bizarre milk-only diet to ‘cleanse’ her body of parasites
As a lifestyle expert with years of experience under my belt, I must admit that Jamie-Lynn Sigler‘s latest health regimen has left me somewhat baffled, yet intrigued. While her gut issues are certainly relatable to many, the milk cleanse she’s embarked on seems extreme, even for someone as dairy-loving as herself. I can’t help but wonder if she’s swapped her coffee with Tony Soprano for a flask of whole milk instead!
Jamie-Lynn Sigler is on an extreme ‘milk cleanse’ to try and fix her gut health.
43-year-old actress shared an unusual disclosure during her appearance on Robert Iler’s podcast, Not Today, Pal.
‘You guys should hear what I’m doing right now, you’re going to think I’m crazy,’ she said.
I’m surprised since we share a fondness for food and sweets, yet here I am in the midst of an unusual diet known as a ‘milk cleanse’. For several days now, I’ve only been consuming whole milk.
To illustrate her point, Jamie-Lynn whipped out a large flask filled with milk.
She clarified, “The underlying concept is that parasites are attracted to dairy. Due to numerous digestive problems I’ve encountered, I’ve experimented with a variety of solutions in an attempt to resolve them.
‘I’ve known enough people that have done this that say it’s really good,’ she added.
Previously, a well-known figure from HBO detailed that this regimen requires consuming milk for a span of eight days while also using specific supplements.
She explained that after taking these pills, the concept is that any hidden parasites within your system will emerge since they’re primarily fed by dairy products.
Jamie-Lynn mentioned that she wasn’t feeling peckish due to her current diet, and had made multiple trips to the restroom throughout the day.
‘It’s just cleaning you out,’ she shared.
Diets rich in milk have gained prominence lately, particularly among bodybuilders for their high caloric content essential for muscle growth – however, health professionals caution that excessive consumption of dairy may pose potential risks.
Overconsumption of milk may lead to health problems such as an excess of calcium in the body, abdominal distention (bloating), gas buildup, and difficulty in bowel movements (constipation).
In June, Jamie-Lynn disclosed that she had come close to dying upon her return from a journey to India.
In one of her Messy podcast episodes featuring Christina Applegate, the actress who gained fame for playing Meadow Soprano on The Sopranos from 1999 to 2007, shared a harrowing account about a life-threatening complication she experienced following surgery.
Approximately one year ago, I traveled to India and stayed at an ashram. During my time there, I felt incredibly enlightened, connected, and serene… However, just two weeks following that, I experienced a severe complication from a surgery and contracted sepsis, which led to a near-death experience in the hospital.
The celebrity revealed, for the first time, that she found herself battling for survival and brushing with death.
After a distressing ordeal, she admitted to giving in to tears and acknowledging her hurt, prior to reaching out for professional assistance.
After undergoing a surgical procedure, I found myself grappling with a relatively uncommon predicament known as post-operative sepsis – a situation where sepsis, this life-threatening response to infection, set in shortly afterward.
In serious instances, it can potentially prove fatal and may lead to the failure of multiple vital organs. (This version maintains the original meaning but uses simpler language for clarity.)
Approximately one out of every hundred patients who undergo standard surgeries may experience this uncommon complication.
She did not disclose the surgery she underwent before contracting the infection.
At age 20, when Jamie-Lynn received a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis (MS), she also shared about a visit to her physician that significantly impacted her perspective.
After expressing her disappointment over seeing no improvement during her physical therapy sessions, her doctor suggested she should stop feeling responsible for changing her body or not doing enough, implying that she shouldn’t bear the burden of expectations.
She clarified, ‘That was a crucial moment for me. It was as if an immense burden was lifted from my shoulders, no longer feeling the constant need to fix, change, or heal myself.’
On the MeSsy podcast, Jamie-Lynn shares hosting duties with Christina Applegate, both of whom live with multiple sclerosis.
